For me this tourism remarks depends on how and what you deal in the Philippines that will make you fun. Yes, there are many things to enjoy and place to go and visit in our country which you will appreciate, though budget is needed for travel. It's more FUN in the Philippines specially when you are bonding with your family and friends. Together with your family is the best memories to treasure.

Our country is a beautiful country and our tourism slogan is correct, it is actually fun in the Philippines. But what's sad about this is that most of the beautiful landmarks or tourist destinations are seen by foreigners and not Filipinos. The reason for this is that traveling in our country is very expensive and not many Filipinos can really afford it.
I can cite one experience in Sagada or the Cordilleras. My friends and I balked at the cost of a meal at Yoghurt House because it was at P150 to P250 per plate. Even my coffee was expensive at P35 (most shops only sell their Cordillera brew for P20). Now, for my friends and I this is actually expensive considering that the produce for the meal is locally harvested unlike here in Manila where the cost of meat and veggies are expensive because markets add on the cost for transporting these goods. After seeing the menu I fully understood why only foreigners ate at this restaurant. Because if converted, the meal is actually very cheap for them and it will cost less than $4 for them. Imagine if that were our money, peso money, and you spend only P4 for a meal. It is cheap.
I hope that our tourism office will think about attracting local tourists rather than foreign ones. I feel bad when I go somewhere in the Philippines and the people I see are all foreigners. Not that I am being selfish, it's just that I want Filipinos to enjoy our beaches and tourist spots first before foreigners do.

It's more fun especially in the provinces, like here in the province of Cam Sur. We have here a Wake Boarding Complex being visited regularly with foreign tourists. And there's a very low crime rate here, unlike there in Manila. Here, you will feel secured anywhere you go. People here are too accommodating and hospitable, especially in the city of Naga, the city of smiles.
