Has the Internet/Web made your life better (happier, more productive, etc.)? In what ways?

Lots of people on Mylot have the same idea--how to make money online. Some people here seem to be actually doing that, making their entire living through online activities.

Now I can get information more easily. I can contact my friends easily but there are a lot of disadvantages of internet as well.

I can get a lot done on the Internet, but I can also spend a lot of time doing things I really don't need to be doing. It's possible to waste a whole day just surfing the Web...

It has cured me of my dependance on the Yellow Pages. Plus if I just don't feel like getting black ink on my fingers from flipping through the newspaper I just get my news online. Shopping. Keeping in touch with friends. Meeting new people. I could go on for days Idlewild. You're like the park yes.....Idlewild?

Idlewild used to be the name of NYC's Kennedy Airport, which I think was a park or golf course before it was an airport. Also the second album by the Allman Brothers Band is called Idlewild South.

Yeah, back when I was in college in the Jurassic Period there was no Internet, you had to go to the library to look up things in books (assuming they weren't missing or stolen)... it's amazing the resources you have access to online.

On the Internet I've found the first real friends after a long time and re-gained much of my lost faith in myself.

I've met a number of people online with similar interests, some I have become real friends and met in person, others I've done business with or learned from. It's a great way to connect with people, I find.

Ya it has. Things are lot more easier with internet. You can send information faster, apply to schools/colleges online and save time, look for all sorts of information, book flight/train tickets by sitting at home, pay bills online........phew...the list is never ending.

One thing I like best is being able to get train schedules, course catalogs, entertainment brochures, travel info, etc. downloaded in PDF, without having to wait weeks to have printed material sent to you. Might even save some paper...

Right now the internet is my only source for income! So I would say it is making my life better. Also I use it a lot to communicate to my family and friends. I live aver 1000 miles away from all of them now. The beauty of the internet is that I can make money and talk with them at the same time without having to have a boss looking over my shoulder!

it has both positive as well negative aspects... now from home I can buy or reserve tickets for neraly any thing using credit card but if the no. goes in wrong hand then I am gone... I can gain any knowledge about anything in neraly a fraction of seconds... And in many ways it had made my life better...

Yes and No. The internet has opened my eyes and allowed me to learn and find things I might not have learned of without it, yet, it's also vastly addicting, distracting and can be counter productive.
