I was browsing on yahoo.com and i saw this article http://ph.news.yahoo.com/solon-invites-disneyland-clark-095941519.html
some lawmakers wants Disney on Philippines. It would be nice to have one like here too right? i mean these are wonderful for kids to go to.. i remember last April 4 when it was my son's birthday we asked him what he wants for birthday and he said he wants to go to Disneylang lol we end up laughing as we know it is far and even Hongkong we cannot afford!
So how i wish there is a Disneyland here so atleast we could take them there...

If this will push through this will be great news! Of course, we need to meet the Disney standards and all that but this will definitely boost our tourism and give more jobs for Filipinos.
The last time I went to Hong Kong Disneyland, there are a lot of staffs who are Filipinos. Most of the parade's band members are also Filipinos! We were surprised when we pass Disney and we suddenly heard "Kabayan!" and we saw them (staff and band members) waving frantically at us.
I just hope Filipinos and officials will be vigilant in keeping the park (if this is to push through) vandal free. It's a bit sad that we notice some areas in Enchanted under maintained for some reason

It SHOULD!
I mean, aside from the usual staff that Disneyland had, they have to hire people for the parade, engineering staff, etc. Disneyland also offers some stageplays like "Golden Mickey" or the "Lion King", meaning they would need people as artists, props men, make-up, etc.
I always believe that through the opening a new tourism idea or attraction, jobs will soon follow.

I would also be glad to have a Disneyland here. I had the chance to go to Tokyo Disney Sea and it was incredible! I would be nice if we had the same attraction here in the country.
But in the end, it will the Disney Company who will decide if we are a profitable market. Clark is a fine place bit we also need to see how this process will go if this is already in the works. Another good thing that will come to this will be the employment opportunities for many Filipinos.

It was really fun but I don't think my feet agreed on anything on that day. The park was so big and there were many people - families, students, you name it, they were there.
Disneyland is really a place for children and for the kid at heart. I was skeptical on going at first but I went there, I felt like I was a little girl on wonderland. My only problem is that I have less energy to do things.

Traffic, noise, a lot to consider.
It usually takes up miles and miles of space to do it right. What island would you put it on?

well yes but there are also different kind of noise that is irritating i guess not the kind Disney will give.. as if it is put in the central part of the country well that is crowded there, there isn't that much space, unlike in Pampanga it has space fit for such

i read that they are going to put it in Clark Pampanga, away from the traffic and noise..

hi jazel juan.
i think having disneyland here in the philippines is a wonderful idea. the theme park is very popular locally and globally and for sure it will generate a lot of revenues, jobs, and good publicity not just for clark but for the whole country as well. there might be a downside to building and operating a disneyland theme park but i think the pros outweigh the cons. of course the decision if a disneyland theme park will be built here in the country lies with its parent company but i think clark has a lot to offer and is at par with the current cities that have disneyland theme parks. although there are other disneyland theme parks in the region, i think a local one will provide something different and unique that the other disneyland theme parks in hongkong, shanghai, and tokyo can't offer.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

i doubt if that is feasible jazel juan. i know that disneyland is very strict with stuff like this.
anyway, with the abundance of filipinos and filipinas in disneyland parks across the world, every disneyland park has a pinoy flavor in it.
i do hope that this one pushes through and we have a disneyland park locally. granted that it'll have exorbitant fees and such, i still think that the community around the disneyland theme park and our country as a whole will directly benefit from the business the theme park will bring in.
cheers and happy mylotting jazel juan!

i was also thinking of that, providing "filipino" like in Disney BUT then since it has contracts right, like buying rights of Disney they not might be able to alter it..

I have heard it discussed in a morning show too. I just hope this push through because this would mean added revenues for our government. I don't know if our climate could be a factor but I think they should also look into it. Hongkong and Japan have cooler climates compared to our country. I just it won't be an issue.

Yes added revenue it is plus a flock of tourism...the climate won't be an issue i guess as people here are used to the hot weather we have...

I just hope the Disneyland corp. would give it a lot of thought. What I mean about the climate is in other Asian countries they have months with cooler weather like Japan and Hongkong. Anyway I guess it can be remedied especially if it's an enclosed area. I'm thinking of foreign tourist too since our climate most of the time is hot.

That would be great news. We lack amusement parks here. Business investors focus much on beach resorts and condominiums. There's only 1 big amusement park in Laguna, Philippines and its getting too crowded because everyone goes to just 1 place. We should take advantage of the growing rate of Philippine Tourism and offer more fun to both foreign and local tourists. I hope it'd be built here in Cebu City. Manila, the capital city is just too crowded.

Yup, we have the South Road Projects, and there's a lot of free space out there. Its a reclamation project, so its next to the sea.

It would be nice if we could have our own Disneyland in the Philippines. It would be great too if the entrance fees would be affordable too. One of the problems that I see here is that it is possible for such a theme park to be built here, but definitely it will be pricey and will be available to those who can afford it. I remember passing by this castle-like structure in Batangas which is the Fantasy World and I recall this place has been the location shoot of many telenovelas and movies. Unfortunately, the place is now in a state of disrepair because it was built as a members-only thing and was not for the general public. So I hope Disneyland if ever built here in the Philippines will be affordable even for the ordinary Juan.

I am glad that there is a Disneyland in Philippines. It seems that in these years there are more Disneylands in Asia. Hong Kong built a Disneyland several years ago. And it seems that there will be one more new Disneyland in Shanghai. Now I heard that it is also available in Philippines. It seems it is a popular theme park all over the world. My son and I went to the Disneyland in Hong Kong last year but we didn't really enjoy there. Perhaps it is small.
I love China

If this will really happen, I will be one of those persons who will be happy. I am sometimes a kid that loves to go on these types of entertainment. I also can't afford a Hongkong Disneyland tour so it will be a very nice thing if we also have it here in our country. A lot of kids will surely be happy and a lot of parents will no longer be having a hard time looking for money to treat their kids to Disneyland.

Great to have a Disneyland in our own country! That is one of the fascinating things that really attract people to go to HongKong and other country that has it. We will all be thankful if there is such place in our place. Parents and kids will love to see it. It is not impossible to have it. Kids love to watch Disneyland Channel, afterall.

well that wold be great to have our very own Disneyland here but i am not sure if Filipinos can keep up with it. it is a high standard place so we are pretty sure it is very expensive. i am not even sure if the amusement parks we have here are doing good too.

Disneyland would take up space, it's like a whole city. I wouldn't know where to put it in the Philippines since it's already overpopulated. But it'd be great if it were true.

I think it's about time that they put up Disneyland here in the Philippines. We are ready for it. After all, some amusement park are doing well in terms of marketability and structure, so it wouldn't hurt if we could take it a notch higher this time. Also, I believe that it could be a great way of providing jobs for some Filipinos and it could also attract foreigners as well, so it's a great idea if I would say so myself.

That would be good for those Filipinos wanting to be there but could not afford because of the trip they have to shoulder. But if this will come true then at least we can travel by land going there. If this comes to reality I guess we can put this added attraction for more tourist to visit us. Although of course Disney in HK, Japan and Shanghai is there to compete with us.

yes as it can attract tourists. There are disneylands near us, like hongkong and japan but then again, there are countries nearer to us like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia which is right below our country so they can come to a nearer Disneyland rather than travel all the way to Japan...or HK..

Yes it would be great to have our own Disneyland here. I guess it would be possible since we are not so outback already from the other countries in the world. It would attract more tourist and would help in our tourism. Personally, I would like it since it would be much cheaper than going to other country. I know my kids would love it very much. I hope the plan would push through.

That would really be a wonderful project if ever. People can go there, without having to spend a lot for their fares alone.
I hope that will really materialize. Even if our daughter is now 21 years old, i think she would still want to see Disneyland.

I think before we have a Disneyland in the Philippines, we should first aim to have really good open spaces and parks where families can hang out for cheaper cost. We are in bad need for these kinds of amusement places. Once you have visited Disneyland one time, you cant expect to visit it weekly, right as this would be both expensive and boring. BUT if you have open spaces and parks where children can hang out and even adults too- it will be more useful and cheaper. There are not so many accessible parks in urban centers in Manila -- save for Luneta Park in Manila, UP campus, QC Circle, Parks and Wildlife Center and Pasig Rainforest Park. Maybe we should also improve our museums.
