Which Soap Opera (past and present) appeals to you the most?

I was not very fond of soap operas, then, but now that I'm no longer working, there's no getting away from these programs. But, well, I got used to watching it everynight, and somehow got hooked to a couple of those. I like Legacy in GMA7. Its not the common soap opera theme we see. The drama is not that heavy, either. There's a mix of comedy and romance. And, I really enjoy the lines. I admire the scriptwriter and director of this soap. How about you, which soap opera is your bet?

I watch lots of soap operas now that there's no school- my favorites right now are Princess and I, Legacy and Walang hanggan.. what discourages me though- is that they have super long commercials and i sleep so late if i watch them. So in the end, the only show i cna watch in full is Princess and I.. it's so cute and the view of Bhutan is nice.

Legacy used to be after MyBeloved (which I hate, by the way), and I had to wait for it before I could sleep. Im glad they changed slot, so I can turn off the tv after watching Legacy. The long commercials are signs that the programs are doing well in ratings, so I'd be happy for them to have good sponsors.

I also do not like My Beloved that much- I love the story- it's like City of Angels, i just don't like Ding Dong anymore.. i am also glad they decided to switch Legacy with it.. I hope Hart gets together with the Curly haired guy- Josh is so not for her.

Yeah, actually I like their team up, too. At first, I thought Sid Lucero was a good actor but can't easily get that chemistry with any leading lady. But, they (Heart and Sid) seem to look good together with the characters they play, in this soap. I even think he's cute.

I often watch walang hanggan and princess and I. Coco Martin is a really good actor (but I'm not a fan.haha) Daniel Padilla is really cute and watching the latter soap, one can see a glimpse of Bhutan. It's just a bit funny because some of the scenes are dubbed. I haven't seen any episodes of legacy, is it good? :)

I like Legacy, because it has a good balance of winning and losing in life. I hate overly dramatic soaps - it's dragging. Like, "My Beloved" of Marian and Dingdon, I just hate that.

Oh. I'd make sure that I'll be able to watch it tonight then.:)

oh at this timeslot, my bet is Walang hanggan. i have not watched legacy, not even turned to channel 7 to glance during the long commercial break for walang hanggan but i'd say there would no soap at this moment that could beat this. the soap has got all the elements you mentioned, there are a lot of suspense, but what gets me is the fast flow of the story, it is never dragging like the ones that preceded it... and well i'd say it also has one liners that would make you laugh at situations they presented as scenes in the said soap opera.

The majority of the soap operas here in the USA had been cancelled. It's sad to see them go but in a way it doesn't bother me and makes room for other shows that are more appealing and realistic. I used to watch One Life to Live when I was in college but when I did snoop on it here and there in later years... the senarios just made my eyes roll as to how could I be so glued to this stuff?

Why were those cancelled? If that happened here, in our country, where everyone breathes soap opera, I think there will be a rally..lol

I love Walang Hanggan. I don't usually change channels. My mom and I love abs-cbn so we would stick to that channel until our sleeping mode comes.

There was a time when we can only view GMA7 for a few months. ABSCBN was just really blurry where we were, so we got used to just sticking on that channel. So, now, I don't recognize most of the new artists on soap operas and other tv programs. I'm more familiar with the Kapuso Network people.
