This is my first time guys writing here in this very moment because I couldn't fall asleep. I never thought about it because I couldn't remember I had a problem about my sleeping habit except when I am not feeling well.
I remembered late at this moment, I had two cups of coffee in a matter of two hours interval. I am not used of drinking black coffee instead I really love drinking milk. It so happened that milk was nowhere to be found.
Not to waste my time lying with closed eyes and opened ears, I decided to work here to invite Mr sleepy. Was this also happened in the middle of your sleeping moment?
What did you do to seduce Mr. sleepy?
I wish I could be sleepy any moment from now..

well, you propably will not fall asleep any time soon, especially after two cups of black coffee, but personaly, if it is my bed time, I fall asleep even if I drink coffee, I cant help it, I am so tired from the days chores that when I fall to bed I fall asleep in the first 5 minutes, so I cant say that I seduce mr sleepy but the other way around :)
here is not so late, its only 10.00 pm but soon its my bed time, my kid is sleeping now so I will go to bed too :)

Hi scarl and etulip as far as I knew of myself on that day I am sure it was too much I took was the only reason. I can feel it because every time I drink even one cup ony but purely black coffee my heart beat a little faster and a little grasping of my breath and uneasy feeling in my stomach. Well, for those coffee drinkers this would mean nothing to them in fact there are people who used to drink more than a cup a day couldn't sleep if they could not drink coffee (in a day).
Thanks for responding guys..nice coffee day ahead..

my neighbor drinks coffee from the time she gets up until the time that she lays down for bed. she does wake up a lot during the night but she has been like that since she was younger. she doesnt actually drink it black tho she puts creamer and sugar and all that in it to so i am not sure if that makes a differance. i do not drink coffee my self :)

Good Morning dear Martin
I just finish writing one article and will submit it tomorrow.
Well, not to waste my time- after writing the article still I am not sleepy so I came back here in mylot to post a few- and earn a few as well.
And, found your topic.
So, what makes you keep awake till this time- was it the coffee- or you want to keep mylotting :p

No bonita..i was already lying on my bed when it's been almost two hours I was still awake in spite of closing my eyes. I guessed it was because of the coffee (2 cups) i consumed in just a matter of two hours gap. I am not used of coffee that's why I was not able to sleep 'til dawn. Mylot was the first thing in my mind that sparked therefore I decided to do it and jump right away to my PC..
Thanks for your reply my dear..

After drinking two cups of black coffee I wouldn't be able to sleep either... actually I can't even drink it without milk at all.
For me using the computer is rather awakening... unless I'm terribly tired, I guess the light keeps me awake. Reading a book help more often. I remember when I was a student, whenever I tried to read in the bed at night I fell asleep in minutes, and woke up with the book under my head
Sometimes drinking a cup of lemongrass or cinnamon tea also helps. If there is no milk at home
It's time for me to go to sleep soon, too.

It sometimes happen to me specially when I drink softdrinks before bed time and yes, I couldn't sleep when I drink coffee earlier. Coffee just keeps us alive no wonder why every morning we always love to drink it;).. Drinking hot mild can really help us a lot to get a good night sleep, this is why kids are being given that drinks for them to sleep early at night.

Hi there roselavon, twinkz and musicluv soda (sofdrinks) and coffee are the best promoter of caffeine. This chemical substance can makes anyone mind fully up, this would always makes you on the go always. If you're not use of having it, that means your body system could not hardly adapt on it. This is the time you could not really fall asleep. This is what had happen to me few days ago.
Thanks wonderful guys for responding my discussion..appreciate it

The only moment I can't sleep is when I have something in my mind that is bugging me. It's not my caffeine intake, as it doesnt stimulate me to be active. It just gives me the palpitations. My laptop, ipad, or cellphone will be my destination from my bed and for hours I would surf, surf and surf. Sometimes I even chat to anonymous people and if ever I get sleepy, I do this habit of leaving them in midair, with them wondering what happened to me. Hehe. Just when I think I am drifting off to sleep, thats the time people will be awake to do their usual business. But after they're gone off to work, I will have the time to sleep until they return. And they retire early to bed and you wake up, stay awake until wee hours of the morning and the cycles goes on and on unless you really refrain from exercise, caffeine, and solve your problems. :)

Hello my friend are you a nocturnal kind of human being? I mean you have only time to sleep whenever everybody goes to their respective jobs?
Yes you're right - personal problems contribute much on our sleeping problem. Our eyes maybe closed but our minds still awakes with our ears opened.
Thanks for responding my friend

If I do not sleep, I do not sleep. I just focus on what I am feeling. If I feel bored with this, I stay with the boredom, focusing on my breathing and what I am feeling in my body. This is a form of meditation and boredom rarely if ever happens these days. I only sleep for about 4-5 hours anyway.. Trying to sleep can often keep us awake! As a therapist, I always invite my clients to do this who come to me for insomnia. It is not easy, but trying to force the mind to do what it obvioulsy not wanting to do, leads to stress in the longer term. Just my opinion, and not suitable for everyone I guess, but it is something that you can test out for yourself. There will be some resistance from the mind, this is normal, but stay with it, and see if it works.. _Derek

Hello Mob,
I think you felt sleep and fallen into asleep after starting this topic. I could not find you anywhere in this topic). So you might be got a great idea what to do when sleeping God is not blessing. Since you have the computer and net connection then why worries. If you worry about this (not getting sleep), which may lead to complications. Instead of worrying spend your time here and start topics. Mr. Sleep will be there immediately.
A word of caution- Coffee can prevent sleep

Yes shre my friend. Before hand I knew already that coffee is not really good for me but I was just confident that the first cup was taker earlier on that day and the last cup was taken 3 hours before I go to bed..it was really crazy for me to do that. But, since craving for something could makes blind sometimes - that's the consequences I'd got. Well, anyway, I had a good sleep the next day... Take care shre...and thanks for your respond..

Most times I am always up till about 2am my time watching movies or NBA if there are games being played and if there's no NBA, NHL would be a perfect substitute. I don't just know but am a late night person because I have gotten used to it when I was in college.
More so, being up that late gives me a lot of time to post on Mylot, since am 5hours ahead of US eastern time and by the time I wake up I see Mylot has credited me for the work I did.
When I used to write so much I write during day times because I find it as a way to keep myself busy and post it at night but when sleep knocks the door at any time I fall to bed and sleep off because it a perfect way to keep my brain rested.

I have my body clock ruined lately because I sleep so late and wake up so late. Due to that, of course, I can't sleep at night. At times I'm still wide awake at around 3am and I'm kinda aware that its not the best time to be awake. I just lie on my bed and shut my eyes. Think of fun things I would like to do. That's when I think of great ideas for the stuff that I love to do. For you to regulate you sleeping pattern, try to sleep on the same early time every night and wake up early in the morning. Do that for a month. Turn off your lights because that could induce sleep and rest. Keep stocks of milk in your home for it to be accessible for you. Drink the milk warm. And also, don't drink coffee when its nearing you sleeping time. I hope this helped you.

Well, i believe generally speaking,mr. sleepy is a king and you are his subject and logically you need to respond to its call unconditionally, but in your own case i think perhaps mr. sleepy is busy somewhere attending to other more pressing issues and as such he let you go for the night............ That is just by the way.
Gentleman, you have already said it all.. you had two cups of coffee in a matter of two hours black coffee for that matter. it is just normally that when you take coffee in the night you would be deprived of sleep because of the nature of coffee which contains stimulants ..if am right, if i were you i will just get to the bathroom and cool myself down or just have it ...

hi,,, i hope you were able to sleep already last night. It sometimes happen to me I almost cry because i really really wanted to sleep but no matter what i do i can't. I have observed that if i am stressed or if there are big/major things or activities that i am looking forward to do the following day,,i experience the same sleepless nights as yours. Coffee also is sometimes a culprit although i am a coffee lover but sometimes it does the crime. What do i do? well,,, i just force myself to sleep and just close my eyes,,, until comes a time that my eyes start to spin around in circles get tired of its own. Then I am able to sleep. I don't do things because the more that i can't sleep,,,i just lie down and close my eyes.

Sleeplessness in fact is very much related to your mental make-up when you retire yourself to bed. I would not try to establish sleeplessness to be having a close link to consumption of coffee. When you think too much about a problem ,try to seek out viable solutions and in turn carry the proposition to your bedside, it is but natural that you begin to lose the blessedness of getting sleepy.

I'm sure the coffee will keep you up for a little while longer. When I can't sleep I get up and read a chapter or two and then I can usually fall asleep. I don't have a problem very often anymore. I used to get up to go to the bathroom and then couldn't fall back to sleep. Now I am on a medication that prevents me from getting up. I don't get on the computer very often, because I would end up being awake for longer than I intended.

I think not to be nervous is the best way to deal with insomnia. If one is worried about insomnia ,the situation will be worse. So one should be relaxed about it ,just lie in bed with everything passing without any noticing. when i meet with this kind of case. i will only close my eyes, lie down, thinking nothing and after a while i am sleep.Have a good sleep the following day.

Hello my friend, for me isomnia started with psychological problem that carries into your sleeping habit or from some health problem you never knew. This was once happened to me until it was diagnosed nervous dyspepsia. I was given a synthetic medicine but I never take them all. I selected only few that were not so heavy in their milligrams. On my case, I guess coffee was the culprit of my sleeping problem at that moment. What I did was to do some mylotting activities until 5am and had a little nap and that was the whole for that day. The next day it was okay..back to normal cycle...

Hi Mobhomeir, it also happened to me when I drink coffee even when I drink it in the morning but I still cannot sleep at night, I will try to force myself to sleep but if I still could not sleep I would take my notebook and try to do my assignment, and if all my assignment is done but I still not feeling sleepy I will take my yarn and crochet hook then. The computer is in other room so i cannot mylotting at night because Im too lazy to wake up from my bed to go to the room, I sometime browse mylot from my cellphone at night but I cannot make a reply because sometime my connection is not fast enough and tend to get dc when I post a reply (when I get dc and try to submit my post I will get a notification that Im not allowed to use the copy paste feature before I reach 500 posts).
