I believe all religion has its own bible right? how often do you read it?
I just came out from the office's bible sharing and of course we all have our bible in hand.. honestly i am not really up for it as i really rarely use the bible, but then again on the other hand i am glad we do have bible sharing as i get to read some verses there that do help us reflect..
There are people now that rarely open it, i mean i must admit, if it weren't for our bible sharing which i am at times opposed to but i am entering now as my hubby told me it would not hurt me to read some verses which i agree is right too.
I have seen teens, cousins of mine who never really open it, much more read it. Their textbooks are worn but the bible is still crispy new.
I do not want to really spark a debate here guys, just maybe wanting to know your thoughts on this one and maybe i get to learn some insights.

Hello, jazel_juan! I think I read it few times when I was still young, when I was in my 20s. But after that, I no longer found time not because I am not interested. I have so many things to do and so many other books to read. I have my bible at home, but I never checked for so many years if this bible is still intact and is still in our house. I am also not comfortable bringing it with me for here in our place, when someone sees you having a bible with you, they'll tease you, and they'll say that you're very religious. They will also ask you if you're planning to be a monk. In fairness with the bible, it's indeed great. I liked how it's written. I like the stories, everything there. I don't know if I have free time again to read the bible.

Hi!!..I managed myself to read the Bible every night..Just 1 chapter each night..and whatever I read I reflect it in my life and try to apply it for myself..if there's an instance that I'm not able to read the Bible for a night, I feel like I lose track of my life..you know, Bible is given to us by God to guide us..I'm really thankful to God because He really love us..:)

I met someone that told me, "If you don't read the Bible every day, you will never be the spiritual person you could be." This advise is what I try to follow every day. I usually read, on the average, about 4 pages a day and try not let one day pass without reading at least one chapter.
I can tell you that it has made a big difference in my life and in my thinking and in my conduct.
It is the very best way to listen to what God has to say and to remember it and live it.
I wish you all the happiness in the world!

It's really sad honestly when people had time for other things but no time for HIM.
It's not mainly about reading the Bible- but how we live our lives according to the gospel.
I also do not want judge and debate with other religions.
But we can see how people claims they are the truth- but their actions denied their claims.
I do not read the Bible everyday- but I live with it everyday.

I do read a verse or two everyday, after i have said my morning prayer. Though, i have already read the whole bible twice already, when i resigned and become a plain housewife.
It helped me a lot to understand some things that weren't openly discussed by priests or religious people.

wow you were able to read it page by page, twice? that is quite amazing as i cannot finish a chapter and i feel ashamed as i am one who is fond of reading..
maybe someday i will get myself to do it..

After resigning from my first job for 15 years, i became a housewife for almost 4 years. Thus, my interlude with the bible transpired.
It helped me a lot to grow into a better and simple person.

For me the bible reader in the house is my mother only, when we are small the rest of us does not really bother reading it regularly. I found it a scary book before so never had interest reading it altogether. However, I remember I was a bit depressed when I am in college and had a chance to open the bible and read the book of Psalms. I was so glad to read the verses, I copied them on my notebook and has been my source of inspiration since that time. When we became Protestant, our church requires us to read the whole bible, 3 chapters a day but I cannot do it so it took me the whole year to finish the bible. It is actually an amazing book, had a great time reading it.

Merely reading spiritual books will not make a good human out of you. There are millions of people of all religions who faithfully read their scriptures and pray daily and still commit horrendous crimes. There also are people who never read any scriptures yet lead a simple and good life all the while helping others. Its always good to read the scriptures but you must bring what is written in them into your personal life otherwise it is merely an intellectual exercise and also makes you egoistic and look down upon others who don`t read them.Understand?

Yes my dear friend, i got the message you want to convey. I even see it first hand, there are people here who claim to be all religious yet in so many ways they are still committing sin..and there are also those who barely go to Church or read the bible yet they are leading lives for others and doing good.

Besides telling the reader God's plan for the salvation of mankind, the main point of the Bible and its most important lesson, as I see it, is to love one another and treat everyone the way you'd want to be treated.

Are you serious? Office Bible sharing? Do I assume this job would not be available to non-believers? And do you all have to be from the same denomination? Are there morning prayer meetings?
Bugger me, I think I'd rather be homeless.
By the way, I have read the Bible numerous times and at one stage was seriously considering the Anglican ministry, and although I no longer believe (and haven't for over 45 years) I have no issue with people reading it; I do have enormous reservations, however, about the concept of office Bible sharing. It doesn't sound a lot different from fundamentalist Islam to me, and one wonders how long before a culture which includes this will push toward religious homogeneity and head for having a state religion.

I bought my own bible two years ago and started to actually read it as per daily readings. Then I went to start reading it from the first book,Genesis. As the days past, I got lazy already. i stopped reading it and was only lying here on top of our cabinet. I get to read it sometimes though especially when my mind is bothered by something. It really soothes me and makes me feel at ease. My heart and mind feels so light after reading it.

For me, reading the Bible is more exciting than going to Cinemas. My favorite parts are the 'Kings'.
Yes, all religions have their (own) Bible version. Mine is a genuine Roman Catholic one and I Read it often, like -- twice a week.
