Friends.. Are there times that you put off whatever sick feeling you have because you needed to report to work?
I woke up with nape pain, i knew i was becoming hypertensive. I needed to rest but i just texted my boss and told her that i will just take the half day off. I couldnt afford to take the whole day because paperwork is piling up on my table. Also, i have a report to finish.. hayyyyy...

It is quite common in offices. Even If am little busy with my family needs or any bad on my health I can't sty away from the office because my absence is must and even if I am away from office I need to attend regular calls from other employees regarding office works.

Hello Gracee! Good discussion subject. A few years ago, I was unfairly evicted from a roomate living arrangement. I wasn't given time to properly pack my belongings or organize a plan for somewhere else to live. The stress from that situation shot my blood pressure sky high, and I became very sick and exhausted. My blood wasn't circulating normally, so I was always cold. I had no decent or safe place to lay my head at night, and my appetite for food was almost non-existent. I had to keep my job, although I was sick and needed medical attention. My job at that time didn't offer any health insurance, so I just carried on each day as if I wasn't ill. But, my body and mind wasn't healthy. I spent most of my earnings on motel rooms every other day. I couldn't save any money for that reason alone. I was stressed to the max! No one at my job knew what I was going through. I wasn't getting any sleep, but I always showed up to work on time and did my job as usual. It was terrible. Working when you're sick is bad enough, but working when you have no home AND you're sick is even worse. I'm proud to say that for one week, I was sicker than I had ever been...but I still kept my job!

Holy Cow Graceekwenx,
I spent 15 years putting off my sick feelings so that I could go to "work." It is my belief that our work is not as stressful and complex as the world leads us to believe. Yes, we need money to provide for ourselves but let's face it, how much does the basics cost? Not much. Food, shelter, clothing...if we let go of our materialism and make out intent to b e conscious of the life we live...Hopefully before this life is over we will find "work" that we wake up to joyfully continue because it makes not only ourselves but others feel good.
much love and live free...

Get well soon. I believe you can use your sick leave. I know taking it will lead to more paper work on your desk, however, you still need to take care of your self.

It is obviously true that one is forced to work despite being sick and besides many reasons are up to it,maybe a person is forced to work because sick leave is not included in the working package and maybe one cant be absent because a pending work is piling and has to meet a deadline and a once boss is not permitting it and still there are lots of factors to consider with the discussed issue .If only we can a have a choice of not working and eventually secure right away our means and resources for a day and for the days to come what a wonderful life can be right.

Your behavior shows that you are honest and dedicated to your work. Sometimes, we have to give priority to our work and rest of the things are forgotten for the time being but if your health is deteriorating then you should take good care of yourself. Inform your boss about your health condition.

Hi,
Usually it happens. WSe have to go to work even if we are ill as lot of work need to be done. However this can be seen by our bosses sometimes and we can get appriciation for the same. And also doing the same for longer time can affect your physical health badly.

When I was employed there was a time that I was really sick but I came to work anyway. That was because my student needed me. AT that time i went to the bathroom to vomit several times and they knew i was too sick so they allowed me to rest.

I used to do like that many times when i was in korea. We had to complete all works ontime even though we are sick or not. It is not bad also, sometime my sickness is gone fast becoz i didnt have time to think of sickness anymore. But sometime it is really hard also when i was too tired and couldnt think well to solve problems.
By the way, you can take a half of day for rest then try to complete your work as your boss wants. You also take some medicines to get strong soon.
Wish you get out of sickness soon and complete your work soon.

Yes, I worked a lot for a long time when I was sick. It's really hard to concentrate and it eats up all your energy, but lot of people do it to keep their job.
It's best to take plenty of rest once you have time for it, otherwise it's hard to get better.

All depends upon how important the work you going to do. If the work is more important to do within specified time so, whatever the problem we facing with. We have to work because of to save our job.

Yes, im sure everyone has experienced this, one time or another. With the sudden change of weather and all, noone escapes the virus. And, it is really hard to drag yourself to the office when you need more rest. But for this cases, we can always make use of our leave of absence. There should be enough allowed by the company for the whole year. We just have to use them properly, so you won't run out of credits, and get unpaid for your absences when you get really sick.
