Funny. Was it because I'm a mylotter?
It will be my first day later for training as a chat support with a travel website. It is pretty much the same as what we're doing as a inbound Sales Rep but I was thinking about the pros and cons about it.
This is going to be my first time. And to tell you honestly; I type real bad and slow. It just so happened that the management is trying to save me from my failing sats as a voice rep and in chat support team; they need manpower for the incoming demands of site visitors or customers. And I find it very weird.
Weird in a way that if you're the customer; you would love to have a rep over the phone talking your heart out of what you want to do in a trip rather than typing it and expecting a few seconds to respond.
Not to mention; I don't type properly. Means I can't ise my whole ten (10) fingers in typing. I only use two indexes and two middles. I may use my thumb but worse I'm using my index in hitting the space.
Is it bad? Like how do you type also at work? Do you use the proper way or are you a bad typists like me?

If I were transferred to the chat support I will be happy even if I am not a good typist. Why? Because I prefer talking through live chat than speaking over the phone. I can easily delete the words typed incorrectly and I can review the grammar first before sending it to the customer. Well, maybe if you are a better speaker than a typist, your management should consider putting you back on sales rep.

That's why I'm looking forward to work in another environment ^_^-)
It's really nice having new friends and I've been in a BPO industry for almost three years talking to people or customers over the phone and it is about time that I'm exploring a new heights at work without reapplying for another company.
Glad to hear it from you and let me know more about your thoughts. Thanks and take care! Happy mylotting!

Hey, I worked as a chat support before and I tell you, It's sooo much better and less stressful than voice account. Don't worry about your typing speed and accuracy, I'm pretty sure you'll undergo trainings. I was a slow typer before but when I started working my typing speed improved and It's now 40-45 words per minute.
Don't feel bad that you were transfered to chat support. I didnt like chat support before but when I got transferred to a voice account, It made me realize how easy my previous job was. And one thing I like about chat support is that customers can't yell at you, the worst thing that they can do is type in CAPS LOCK. hehe

Hahaha.. Yeah. And the worst part is you hit ENTER and send it ^_^-)
I'll be more careful next time about that as well. I'll try to check my keyboard's Caps every now and then. I'm not use of looking at the screen while typing. I still need to find some keys in the keyboards when typing although I'm familiar where are they placed.
Hope to see more of your posts and happy mylotting ^_^-)

Man, I am a very bad typist. Maybe worse than you. hehehe I type only with my middle finger and index finger. I type about 35 words per minute. I don't know if that's above or below average. hehehe

Hahaha... thanks for sharing your thoughts~!! Now I'm not the only one who's a bad typist! We're on the same page!
I thought everyone here in mylot are good at typing and such. Like I'm thinking; everyone here are so fast in responding to posts! hahaha..
And what's weirder is; I'm now applying the mylot part here at work in which I need to type to respond -_-")
