Why is dancing such a popular exercise?

We can find many people start a dancing habit or routine as a kind of exercise and for losing weight. We can say that there are many other ways of losing weight, but why is dancing one of the most popular ways to do so? What do we get from dancing, and why is it such a popular kind of exercise?

i love dancing so much, i always wish i could dance as good as my idols haha. but yeah, by dancing, you don't just get a very good exercise because you are moving your whole body but also it is never boring. you ca have fun while doing it.

I love dancing too, and I agree that dancing is never boring. You also have the freedom to choose what music to dance to, so you will be able to dance to dance music that you love. Anyway, who are your dancing idols may I ask?

I agree that dancing is usually a social form of exercise. A long time ago, when attending parties they usually have this dance time where you can look for a girl to dance with. Discos were also in back in the 80's to 90's, I'm not sure if they are still popular nowadays. There are other social gatherings that have dancing as part of their ceremony...and lastly, dancing is really a great kind of exercise that could make you fit and slim. Just observe how great all those professional dancers look.

Hi ButerDays4Me, even though people realize that having exercise is really important health, still it seem to be really tedious and joyless doing it regularly. And it's great that music would arouse the sleeping nerve to move automatically when lively and vivid rhythms and beats played. Therefore it's more fun to practice dancing than other monotonous physical exercise.
Here of course social dancing as well as the line dance are available in all the corner in park. We could see more people take part in the dancing activities early in the morning in the parks here. people jogging and having brisk walk somewhere around feel energetic as well listening to the go with a swig music lol...

I see your point clearly, that is why I think ballroom halls were made and many young and old people find time to have fun dancing with their partners or with a dance instructor or D.I. I think you can have a regular exercise like jogging while listening to dance music, but it's still different when you dance with the music you hear...it brings out passion and fun that cannot be brought out in jogging or similar exercises. Dancing brings out excitement, passion, romance, joy, fun and other positive emotions. I think more dance studios, schools and clubs should be made. More people would then get into this hobby as a way of getting into shape and besides becoming healthier, they also find themselves happier as well :)

I think dancing is popular as you can dance anywhere and its free. I dance around the kitchen while the radio is on and I'm doing the chores such as washing up. You can dance up the stairs anywhere anyplace anytime. you can dance on your own, which is very good if you are shy, or with friends, my children like ot dance with me around the house. And as you say you can keep fit as well. It's free to od and makes you happy

That's probably the main reason why dancing is so popular...it makes you feel good and it makes you happy as well. I imagine your situation being very cute when you dance with your children...it's touching when you hear stories of great parents-children relationships. I hope you continue those close bonding with your children while your dancing keeps you fit and trim as well.

well i dont know exactly. see if one is always taking rest (not working) means that person will quickly have cholesterol and many health issues. for eg. if you see, many rich persons having some food regulations that is because of health issues. but Many poor coolie and labors didn't have any health issues because of their hard work their body having immunity power. Anyone who works hard with sweating that person seems to be physically fit. similarly if you dance for an hour automatically you will have severe sweating that is also work. so it is considered as an exercise.
