Does Redemption Have A Limit

I live in a world where criminals commit crimes every day, and many of them are caught and forced to serve their debt to society. After a criminal has served their sentence they are expected to re-enter the world and become a productive member of society. If a former criminal does this is he redeemed in the eyes of society or is the some other form on penance that should be served? Does the nature of his crime have any bearing on whether or not his debt truly is paid? Is any criminal capable of redemption or are their some crimes that can not be repaid to society.

I think that many people make error in life ,we can't jugdes others for their act what they have done or not,we are all sinner, but the grace of the lord has given his son Jesus christ for our sin, their is a redemption for a criminal if he confess his bad action to God and ask Jesus to forgive him, because Jesus Christ give his life for the whole world. This person can have a family and his crime forgiven to make a new life.

Philly is right. It is a vicious cycle. It's so easy to forgive, but when we are directly involved, one would not find it easy.

I believe in order to keep from sinning ourselves we have to find the forgiveness for those have broken the law, but what if the crimes they committed were against you personally. Would you still be able to forgive so easily?

hi. i think that it all depends on the act that was done, one thing may be serious to one person and to the other it might be trivial, but if you have paid with time maybe you are entitled to come back into society and live a normal life, unfortunately that not the case,i believe its something that people hold against you for the rest of your life, they may pretend not to know or care but trust me its their with them as they watch your every move.

I'm inclined to agree with you about it being held against you for the rest of your life, but is that the failing of the criminal or the failing of society to not be able to forgive. If this reformed criminal was to do something extraordinary like save the world would their still be skeptics.

It is very hard to redeem oneself if your crime hurt a lot of people- people won't look at you the same and have a really hard time in rusting you. But i think ,if the criminal is truly sorry- and showing it by words and deeds, he will be redeemed in time..
