I started from Genoa to Rome today. This is to reach my best friend Angelo. But the journey from Genoa to Pisa. That stress! No seat was free, so I had to take a ticket, already envisaging having to spend two hours standing. The train was without air conditioning, and it was not possible to open the windows. Fortunately, I managed to find a free place for about an hour, but then rise the person who had booked the chair, and so I had to stay about the rest of the way, sitting in the hallway of the train, out of the compartments. When I finally arrived in Pisa, for me it was a liberation. I went straight to the bar to get me a coffee. Well it wanted! At this time Im traveling to the capital. Fortunately on this train is guaranteed a seat, and at least here, the windows open! On the implications of this trip, I will write a detailed review on my return. This included approximately one week. I hope to spend a good time.

I am surprised that the train from Genoa to Rome was so very busy. An Italian trains should have air conditioning or windows that open. Luckily you found a free seat for a little time but it is unfortunate the passenger for that seat turned up. It must have been lovely to get the coffee on arrival at Pisa station.
One time I was on an intercity train in the summer. The windows were not ones that open and the air conditioning wasn't working. They gave all passengers a free tea or coffee. I felt hot and weak. I would have preferred a mineral water.
On my last trip I got off the bus at the border between Argentina and Brazil. The bus driver gave a ticket for the next bus. It took ages to have the passport control and baggage check. The next bus was already full and it had standing room only. I traveled on it with my two year old daughter and my disabled four year old son. My daughter's handle broke on her mini suitcase. It was hard holding on my son's buggy and making sure my daughter stayed safe right at the front of the bus. We arrived and asked about a bus to Curitiba. The lady said that I had to walk several streets to get Brazilian Reals and book my bus ticket. Then I would have to take a taxi out to the long distance bus terminal.
Good luck with the rest of your trip.

Have a nice trip alberello, I hope you enjoy and be safe.
Our trains here in my country are too crowded and somehow scary that's why I never tried to ride on those. We have some simple train that travels only on the city that most of the commuters who work in the offices used to ride those for avoiding traffic on the rode. Take care!

Not always travel passes normally.I have also had a pretty terrible travels. When the trip is over and down to earth all the pressure passes. The best solution to end the severe travel is a hot shower or bath.

Traveling has become very stressful in The United States since 911. I love going places but the stress of getting from one place to another deters one.
I took a train from Austin, Texas to Los Angeles a couple of years back. I had a very bad experience on the train with a group of rough persons. I am going to be taking a long train trip in June to Boston for my 50th high school reunion. I hope that I will not have another bad experience. I used to love traveling by train but, as said, everything seems to have changed since 911.
I thought that train travel in Europe was so much better than in The United States. Sorry that you had a bad trip but at least it was short only being two hours as opposed to two days.,

I have traveled on Italy's trains (From Lyon or was it barcelona? to Rome) The facilities could have been better but I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside. Rome's railway station is very pretty too! Italy is very bella!

That sounds like a miserable trip. You had no seat, no air conditioning and no fresh air! Ack. If it was hot there like it is here with temperatures in the high 80's with high humidity also, I feel sorry for you.
Hopefully, your trip will be exciting and fun and make up for all the sacrifices you put up with on the train and getting there!
