When life pushes you, push back! Are you letting life beat you up?

Personally, I'm going through a rough transition. I attempt to wake up everyday with a positive attitude. Bad things happen to good people. That's life. Depression, self pitty, and self doubt are the negative results of too much stress and not enough answers to our dillemas. It's important to lean on family and friends who will let you vent your frustrations. Staying busy distracts you from slipping into depression. Productive activities need to be created to keep people from self destructive behavior. It doesn't matter who you are, what social status you have, if you'r rich or poor. Life happens to us all. It's cliche to say, "don't give up" or "things will get better". But, hope is what we all should hold on to. Bad times don't last. Hopefully, you aren't letting life beat you up. I'd like to know how many people on this site have hope or believe in something greater than themselves.

WELCOME to MYLOT dubbc3 I have to shake myself continually to make sure I keep striving. I was used to a very active life. When my disablity struck me, yes I do make myself go even though parts that ache tell me otherwise LOL I think God helps us accomplish more than we think we can. And if something happens we don't want it to I always say God has a better plan. Although for the life of me I cant figure out why we get some of these darn illnesses that disable us LOL But there must be a reason. Maybe God's way of telling us to slow down. Have a wonderful day!

Now don't give me to much credit LOL there are minutes I want to get the frying pan out and whack my husband LOL. I learned peace of mind and tolerance from being in the Army at 18 and seeing War first hand at such an impressionable age. While we are the free country, and have the chance to keep it, I see so much struggling and fighting. I don't understand. But then again, I have seen war and its reprocussions at a young age. Not just on TV. Its totally different when you are around the real thing. I think I just amaze people and they stop and say did that little old lady say that to me? LOL I saw a afro american lady yesterday as we passed each other in Walmart. I turned back and looked at her and she was just drop down beautiful. I said, Mam may I say something to you? and she turned and looked at me and said sure and I said In case it hasnt been said to you You are just gorgeous! I think if we actually would say what we feel on first impressions, we all might be shocked at some of the kind things we can say. There is enough bitter out here, I tend to always compliment someone when I can. Bless you back

I don't know about anyone else here, but I agree with you on this! I'm grateful. Things could be so much worse. More people should be grateful. I think that way too. Wondering why some are stricken with this disease, and that disability. But, you perserver! You still have a great attitude, and I commend you for that. You could be bitter, very bitter...but youre not. Blessed are you.

True you have the right attitude and (hay can I hang out with you) :-) certainly we can only go forward. Recently, it helped me to watch a movie. The story really compared life to a golf game, you just keep swinging and chase after the little white ball. Yeah, sometimes you end up in the sand pitts, it happens sometimes!

Yeah well in this comparison they keep saying life is like a game of golf which normally I might have an issue with and say no, no I am not playing games here but in the context I could see that even in a professional sport where people are serious it is still just a game. Where am I on the green you mean :-) or via profile page?

i agree with everything you said. i also think it is easier said than done. some people suffer through severe and clinical depression. it gets more complicated when you get to that point. it is great that you have such a positive attitude. there are alot of people out there you could help.

Great discussion, I needed t hear this today. I have been having a huge struggle lately with so many things, my health being the biggest worry of a lifetime for me. It's true bad things don't last forever, but why do they happen so often to me sometimes.

nailtech, I'm glad this was a good and on time discussion for you! You're not alone. I've been getting right blows and upper cuts for the last year or so. Makes one want to yell the famous question, "WHY ME?" But, if not me, then who should crazy things happen to? Bad people? They have their bad rewards waiting in line ultimately so....Sometimes, we are the reason why bad things happen to us. Bad decision making, or no belief system. What do you think?

I'm sorry your health isn't the best. Maybe a simple diet change or ceasing bad habits would make a world of difference??? I'm not sure what your health problem is, but I believe the human body is capable of healing itself if we only let it. I'm also not certain of your spiritual beliefs, but praying and meditation does wonders.

Nice Discussion Friend. As you say life pushes you back every time you want to over come it. It the truth. You have to walk with it if you get slow you will loss it. Life gives difficulties every time. Every day we face so many people some are good some are bad but it is life so you have to adjust with this difficulties.

No matter we are happy or unhappy, 1 day will past,so why not be happy? God help those who help themselves, so I believe that we live because of hope and people who love us around, life will be better and better as we hope.

Hope is so important Juliet. Sometimes, it's easier said than done to be happy when so many things are hectic in your life. Faith. Must have even a little bit of it.

We are going to ride some rather bumpy waves throughout this thing that we call life. We just have to hang on and keep stubbornly persisting through the best of the times and very worst of times. With the very worst of times being rather bad when you really think about it. It is rather easy to see why a lot of people tend to just fold right under the pressure. But we must fight on. Life does go on. We just got to go on with it. We have got to really just move forward. Life can be a harsh adversary if you let it put a beating right on you. However, those who are stubborn will eventually get back to a somewhat better state of life. Bad times can go on a lot but they do not really last for the longest amount of time.

I don't like it when my life is going the way i want it to be.I try to keep control of whatever happens in my life.It is hard. But i try to be that way. And depression is something i never want in my life.I too get a little down sometimes. But i don't let it get to me too much.I go out and try to change it as much as i can.If you sit around moping,it will just make you feel worse.

I know what its like to be depressed, although I'm not depressed for long. In my opinion, people who suffer from short or long term depression are usually people that want to do more with their time on earth. I know its hard to keep a good attitude when the chips are down. If the chips never fell, and things were always good, would we appreciate life? Probably not. Keep your head to the sky! There are still a few good people that care in this crazy world. :)

I totally agree with you when you stated that life happens to us all! I feel that one of the most difficult things we face is making the right decision when seeking solutions. First, I believe in a Higher Power and that alone gives me the hope I need to carry on when life is difficult to deal with. It also helps to have a strong support system with positive people, those are difficult to come by. So, I believe that making life easier involves good people and a Higher Power.
