I have my eyeglasses with me since 2nd year high school. I don't wear it that much because I look ridiculous and I am not comfortable with it. But sometimes I really have to wear it because it is needed. I have astigmatism since 3rd grade and it bothers me. I wear my glasses at home but I avoid it wearing in school because I don't like being teased like "genius" or like "granny".

Hi, we are the same. I have astigmatism too
and I have to wear glasses. I started wearing glasses
since 6th grade since I developed astigmatism
on 4th grade. I really don't like wearing glasses
because I think it makes girls look unattractive and
I'm also not comfortable with it. So I started wearing contact
lenses. At school or whenever I'm out of the house,
I just wear contact lenses. But when I'm just at home
especially while using the computer or watching TV,
I just wear glasses.

If it's for your own good, then you should wear it. I won't really suggest the laser thingy because my uncle has had bad effects after doing a laser surgery for his eyes, he almost got blind. The contact lenses might work, so you might as well go to your doctor and ask what contact lens best suits your eyes or if it's possible for you to wear one.

That's a very good decision. Contact lenses are not advisable. They have many problems. You can't wear them for more than 6 hours a day; you have to keep your eyes free from any form of dust which irritates your eyes and make them wet; you can't cry with your contact lenses on ... many such issues... I personally know a person who was wearing contact lenses for years together. Ultimately, she had to undergo Laser surgery as her eyes got some serious issues. It was all because of her lenses. It's better to use glasses than lenses... way better!!

Taking medicines and practicing exercises can help you improve your sight. But this is a long time process. Till then you have to wear glasses. Otherwise it'll worsen you eye condition. As long as you wear them, you can maintain your problems at the level what they are today. But if fail to do so, your eye condition will get worse by the day. I know this since I'm also wearing glasses for about 7 years. Don't worry about your personality. Just by changing the frame you can change your look. You can have a cool look with suitable frame for your glasses. Don't spoil your eyes!!

I have glasses for almost 6 years now. And it's my 3rd eyeglass since the first one. But I preferred the big round frame because it doesn't make me feel dizzy. From now on I will wear it everyday not for fashion statement but for the sake of my eyes. :)

Me too I really hate wearing my eyeglasses and that is why I've been using clear and soft contact lenses. I don't wanna look like a nerdy granny... although there were times that I was forced to wear those spectacles whenever I feel lazy putting on contacts. I had to switched from frames to frames, until this time I hope the glasses I have at home looks fine on me... not sure though. The previous one has thick lenses and that is why I look like I'm having swolen eyes most of the time.
Though if you have no other choice other than wearing glasses. I think it is better not to think about how we look... better to think about our eye sight because the more we keep forcing our eyes, the more its power will increase.

Well I am. I eat fruits and veggies, those yellow foods. But I am suffering from sinusitis too. My mom always scold me when I read books while lying.
Anyway thanks for that. :)

oh! please don't read while lying because the position of your eyes is not good for reading. Just face it that you really need a pair of eyeglasses. I too am using eyeglasses. I started using it when I was 18 years old. Now I'm using the progressive glasses.

As @Fact says, never read books or watch TV while lying down. Use computer in a proper posture. There are pages on internet which briefly describe right posture for reading, working with computer etc. Follow those instructions to save your eyes!! (Of course most of us don't do it even though we know its importance, just like me )
Practice some yoga from a reliable YOGA MASTER for improving your eyesight. They can even suggest you suitable food habits.

Hello friend,
I also like to wear the eyeglasses for fashion. I like this fashion very much. I think you also about this. But I am not sure.
Have a nice day.

Maybe you need to look at the need to wear glasses differently. I've worn glasses for 5 years already and I actually enjoy it. I have about 6 pairs of glasses and I like to wear a different one everyday. Nobody has ever teased me because I wear glasses because they are not big, round and thick like the stereotypes suggests. What I mean to tell you is that these days people wear glasses sometimes only as a fashion accessory and that if you find the type and style that suits you best you can make them work for your look.My friends, for example, say that my face looks better with glasses. When you go to the store try on at least 10 pairs of glasses, find the ones that suit you best and then walk with your head held high and be proud of who you are. After all you're the same person with the same face and style, with or without glasses.Or,if it bothers you so much you should just wear contacts.
