Today on my way home, I passed by a department store. Wow, it was so cold inside since they set low temperature. I really think this is a big waste since it is not necessary. It is also not good for the health since there is a big difference between the outside and inside temperature.

Hi youless! What you have mentioned there has not reach the utmost point as I see. I have experienced so many times that some guys actually set the air-conditioner at a quite low temp while openning the windows and doors thoroughly though the temprature outside is quite cool, and make large noise from day to night without considering others' feeeling. I really feel disgust about this kind of behavior. I think these guys should be sent to primitive society to suffer before enjoy the convenience of precious electricity source.

I CAN NOT agree more. I also can not understand that why some places set very low temperature when it's not necessary in fact. The day before yesterday I sat on a car on the way to my friend's wedding, the air-condition was set so low temperature that I have to put on my coat, but when I got off the car, the sunny weather made me feel so uncomfortable. I think people should get more knowledge about saving resources.

I hate it when they run the air conditioning and cooling that much in a department store, even in the winter. It's just freezing cold... not to talk about that sometimes if it's really hot outside and someone enters the mall, the body can react really extremely to the sudden change in temperature.

Yeah, I think so too, what a waste!!
I think a department store just need to provide a temperature just only 2 or 3 degrees lower than outside.
I think that kind of temperature is comfortable enough.
I've heard a saying....
Some store (like bookstore) don't expect customer staying too long in their store, so they may set a extremely cold temperature to avoid people to read at the store without buying.
I don't think that is a good way.
Remember, earth is the only, customers are a lot!!!
One more, everyone shouldn't set his/her own air conditioner too cold!!
Save the Earth!!!

Boy do I hear what you are saying. My husband had an appt for a dietician to talk about diabetes. So I went with him. It was a 3 hour long class. It was so cold in there when I hit outside I felt like I had to thaw out.
When we got home I made a cup of hot tea and came in the bedroom and got under the covers and sipped my tea til my body temp came back up.
I agree its crazy to have to go in and out of very cold places and then come back outside to the heat. Seems like it shocks our system.

I truly agree with your views. If there is no need of the regulating the temperature with respect to humidity, climate, then make energy consumption less.
