last week, a house of an ex professor was fired with guns. he is living inside a university place. Months ago,a student was raped and killed, some killings had been occured inside universities. In USA, someone fired gunshots and had casualties. Today, a student is stabbed and robbed again. A school is like a second home for students but it seems it is becoming a risky place. I have a son, I am a parent as well, I worry about how safe my son is when he is out of my sight. There are guards on these facilities but why killings are becoming rampant?

hi,
now a days people become more aggressive and those people don't mind so much if the place are Hospital, universities or even in church, they will kill if they have a chance because of money.student are not safe anymore inside of the school because anytime they will attack.

I heard about it from news. I don't what happen to all student now. I think they have problem with their family or maybe with their friend. I don't know sure about it, but based situation right now, I think school or university administration have to increase their security system. Check all student that bring weapon if they enter school yard.

I am with you luisa in this post...It is very scary ton
know that we send our family members off to college and
to find out that this type of criminal behavior is happening
there...causing us great anxiety and dismay...
I surely hope something will be done soon to make colleges
campuses safer....

Students feel much more comfortable in a school setting and therefore are on less guard when they are out and about with their friends enjoying the freedom of life. There are probably more instances lately of problems happening, because one the Universities are not required to tell to the public every incidence that occurs, and two we are in trying times economically and people have less to loose. As long as your son watches out just as if he would walking down the street to the store for cars, and suspicious activity, he should be fine.

I know as a parent your nerves have got to be shot! It happens all over. Some time early last month, I heard a girl was raped ON CAMPUS literally a few feet away from the dorm that I live in now.. It was so crazy because none of my friends knew about it until someone called them asking if they were okay. Supposedly our school was on lock own but they were trying to keep things "hush hush" I suppose so students/parents wouldn't go crazy. It's just terrible how these things still go on yet we have police ON CAMPUS 24/7. They're always saying how secure the school campus/environment is but I doubt it. I feel if anyone can walk their dog on school campus (and they don't live on campus let alone go to the university) then they would not know who's walking onto a college campus at any given time carrying God knows what on them. I pray that your son does well at school & he stays safe though.
