Weedy Freak

Freaky Weed - This appears to be the spring of the mutants, or at least mutant dandelions.

It is one year and one month after the quake and tsunami that shook Japan to its core than caused the biggest Nuclear mess unknown since Chernobyl. This appears to be the spring of the mutants, or at least mutant dandelions. They are popping up in Tokyo. The buggers are popping up in the USA and Canada too. They aren't the only plant gone bonkers but they are certainly the most prolific. Gardeners, is this a new phenomenon as the more fearful on the web believe or is this just weeds being weedy adaptable plants that get around?

I was seeing odd dandelions like the one pictured above, long before the Fukushima fiasco. Perhaps they're more prevalent now, though?

Plants have always mutated to adapt, but with so many, it's scary. It means that the soil is contaminated to the point that dandelions can't grow unless they adapt. When dandelions can't grow, we're in trouble. What else will "adapt" before it's over?

I'm not a gardener... but that looks like a mature cauli flower. Judging by it' stalk... it is kind of similar to the stalk of the cauli flower... but then again the top seems a little different forget it.. i have no idea what this is. Maybe some botanists out there can have a suggestion?
