It would be a lot better when they let us know the specific reason why...

why the discussion we've started and myLotters had enthusiastically responded to, got deleted. I reviewed the do's and don't's again, and I believe I didn't violate anything to the "DON'T's" and I think I followed the "DO's" pretty well. Okay, my discussion have been deleted, no hard feelings but could they at least note us what rules we've violated, whether deliberately or not? At least tell us if is it because of Mature content, improper words, advertising etc. The only thing I remembered doing that matched in the DONT's is to thank all those who have responded, but I was careful and I did not just thanked them anyway. I did responded to them, I just added the thanks in the end of my response because, well, they deserve that right? They spent their time, bothering to read and share their thoughts to us. And it's not like the 'thank you' is the only thing I said in it. This left me confused, really. I think they should at least inform us what we did wrong or mentioned wrong so we wouldn't make the same mistake again. Well I wouldn't mind getting reported and my discussion deleted if I'm guilty at that. I've seen in other sites when you got reported and they'll inform you why is that and for what reasons. I think it would be a pretty good addition to the site, so they wouldn't left the myLotters hanging and confused. What do you think?

usually mylot notifies the reason as well on deletion. probably the discussion you started was quite similar to some other discussion as well. this could be the only reason incase it has not violated any other norm as you mentioned. anyways..happy mylotting

They told me that the notifications are not working properly for days now, so that's probably why I still haven't received an e-mail about it. Thanks anyways. :D

As others have said, there are already notifications when our posts are removed but they are arriving late recently. I just received a bunch concerning topics that were removed hours ago when admin was last here. Bear in mind that not only you lost earnings when your topic was deleted but also allthose who particpated in it. We should all be aware of the guidelines so that, not only do we know what type of topics to avoid starting, but also where to avoid responding. Readiung through your comments here I notice that you mention 'reporting'. Topics, responses and comments do not have to be reported in order dfor them to be removed as admin sees them and deltes them if they are violations, regardless of whether they have been reported or not. You will get it right the longer you stay here so pick up the pieces and start again

Yes, i think it would have been better if they added a reason for the deletion of your discussion for us to know what we did wrong and for us to learn from it so we won't ever start discussion of the like. But, I think it is also normal that mylot deletes it after thorough investigation. They don't delete it for no reason at all, that's for sure. Not only you have experienced this but most of us here, old and new members has had discussions deleted so many times already. What I can suggest you do is to contact admin and ask them why that discussion was deleted. Because, we can't help you with that here for we have not read your whole discussion. Let's just remember the guidelines and the terms here so we won't be violating any next time. Just move on and let it be a lesson to us all here

I contacted the admin first of course before I made this discussion. :) I asked them why so I know if I violated any rules at all. :D And yeah, I agree that they'd delete it even without our consent if they think the discussion have breach any rules here or for other important reason, but at least send us a note after(that's my point). Well anyway, the reason why I posted this is to see whether myLotter would like the idea of the site sending as a message about the reason why it got deleted, whether it's already expired or because of other reasons. :D

Yes, I already agreed to you on your point. Let's just hope they will get to read your suggestion and will take that into consideration.

If you are speaking of your discussion about public libraries, I thought when I responded that it would be probably deleted as a poll type discussion. The notifications are not working correctly since a week, and it is why you did not received the motive for this deletion. You can contact GoAskAlice to have an official explanation -- you don't need to be in his friends list to send a message to GAA --. This discussion will also be probably deleted, as a discussion about an individual issue with myLot.

It was an interesting discussion. If you had untitled it "I would like to have a public library in my town !" it would be still here. We learn with our mistakes : starting from now, avoid titles answerable by Yes or No.

Definitely! Thank you so much, I had fun reading their responses too, so from now on I'm gonna avoid that, wouldn't want a nice discussion deleted again. ^^

Oh, so that's probably why it got deleted, I've read that we should avoid questions that are answerable by Yes or No. *sigh* such a loss and I've been enjoying my time reading the experiences of those people who'd been in their public libraries. I didn't noticed that it's not working properly, or maybe it's because I don't have much to be notified. I already sent a question to the site regarding it before I opened the discussion and I'm hoping that they would still answer me. I've actually been wary when I posted this because I don't know if I would step on the line again so I think I should expect this to get deleted soon then? :D Thanks for enlightening me.

Did you check your email? They usually give out the reason why the thread had been deleted. Anyway, you could have asked a question which could be answered by a single word or a selection. They usually delete threads that do not promote discussion which may be their reason of deleting it. It would be nice if you gave us a hint of what you posted about so we could have an idea on why it was deleted.

I received the mail now, it just took a lot of time and I'm a newbie so I really didn't know that it'll take a while before receiving the notification. Although, most responses told me that the notifications are not working properly theses days. It's not just answerable by yes or no, because I asked about their experiences too. ^^ But the mail informed me that it was a 'poll' type, hmmm...gotta be careful next time. :D Thanks for the response anyway, have a good day. :D

it's been my experience that when they tell you that your post got deleted, they explain why. they usually send you a notification in your email account you have on file with mylot. i think the rules are pretty fair here, since we can talk about whatever we want. don't worry, in the beginning, i use to feel the same way. i don't trip about it because more of your post won't get deleted than will.

I do receive notifications when I responded in a discussion that's not existing anymore, yes, but not about why when it's my own discussion that got deleted. Yeah, I hope so, thanks anyway.

I do agree we should be told, but most of the time, when I added the notification,I pretty much knew why, after I saw the title of the discussion. It is best to avoid those discussions that you know will end up getting deleted. I will however, respond to those that need help, knowing the discussion will be deleted. I am not just Herr for the money anyway, so I will help out someone anyway. Mylot is school about having fun anyway, and not just for earning, but earning here is a bonus and a gold one to boot. Take care, and have fun mylotting.
