Took me years to mark BR

Aha, it actually took me 2 years to resolve some of my discussions. Wow, was it really that long since I have started it? It seems like it was just yesterday since I started those discussions..lol! There are still some discussions that are not yet resolved because I feel ashamed and afraid to hit mark best response because it has already been two years. I have read here that it is not necessary to choose BR. It will not affect our earnings or the responders earnings, so why do we have to choose? In your opinion, do we really have to resolve our discussions? Would you still mark someone as best response even if it has been years since you have started the discussion?

In my previous account, I haven't resolved many discussions for long time and for about two years like you. *blush Later I started to give those BR for the people who deserve for it. Even it is late, that will give them encouragement to work more here and would be friendly with us.

But what if those users are not active anymore? Will I still give it to them? Their responses are also good. Maybe they'll be encouraged to come back once they see in their email that we have marked them as best response, don't you think?

Yes right. Once I thought of leaving mylot and inactive here for about weeks, I find this BR and because of it I am active again here.

we can decide best response even after two years. But before doing so we should identify a member who is active in mylot at the time of deciding. there is no fun in marking best response for a member who is not active or whose membership has been withdrawn/cancelled.

when you select best responses you are giving encouragement to your friends. But it is ideal that you encourage an active member because you give him an opportunity to identify your best responses also. You can select even after two years.

I wasn't thinking about a member being inactive, I was just selecting who I think responded best on my discussion. Well, I have learned something from you and that would be to better select those that are still active so I could give credit to their effort in responding and therefore they will continue to give quality posts. Thanks once again

hi gaiza well in some senses we do not have to do anything here but by the same token its a nice gesture and while it does not pay anyone it does make the recipient feel good. id it not nice to do something at times for someone else without expecting any reward fo r it.I myself just read over the responses pick the one I think is best and have done with it. I do wait a week or two to allow others to find and respond to my discussions.,but I refuse to stress over it.

Thanks Hatley . I guess it's never too late to choose whose best at least they know I appreciate and value their responses.

That's the main reason why I'm not planning to start new discussions. I want to resolve all my previous discussions first. The problem is I'm not in the mood most of the time. I can only choose the best response if I'm in the mood. It's also true in commenting. Sometimes I just log in to myLot but never post anything. My mind says I want to post at least five comments but my hands don't want to cooperate.

It's good not to force ourselves from responding so we can give quality responses. I also felt tired reading all those responses, but then, I think it's about time I resolve them and give credit to those who have responded well with my discussions.

Hi gaiza! There are time that we need to give some credits to those who replied to our discussions. If we can see that someone has given an answer that we thought the best answer, it quite okay to give them the BR.

Yes, I agree. But, I am a bit hesitant to choose best because those discussions were made 2 years ago.

Well,I always try to resolve my discussions after one week, and at present i just have one discussion which is unresolved.Okay now It's my duty to confess this anyway,I have started just four discussions and resolved 3 of them. The fourth was started 2-3 days back so i'm waiting for 4 more days before it gets resolved. As myLot says, you need not resolve the discussions but i feel resolving the discussion would be useful like this:After 2 years, a person may search about a topic, and find your discussion talking about the same. When you have the BR marked, he would feel it easy to read the BR and get answer. But sometimes anyway, you may have a lot of answers interesting and i guess you could not really choose one best of them all! Well, I would first leave a discussion unresolved only if it going to have too many best answers. If at all,it has only one BR and i haven't resolved after 2 years,i would still give them BR.Why be ashamed? It's each user's way of resolving the discussions!! Good day~!

Yes, I agree. I have resolved some of those discussions I have started 1-2 years ago. It was hard and I had a really hard time choosing. I still have a few unresolved and I am not planning on resolving it just yet because, I am still waiting for others to respond on it. I am also not planning on resolving that one discussion because almost all are best and I just can't choose . Well thanks for sharing and happy Mylotting!
