Any one has done some "drawing"?

drawing skills - a skill that is no longer me as an expert

Hello Lotters, I remember when back then when I was too young as a toddler, there's no Internet and not much to watch in television, drawing was my second hobby besides playing toys. At some point of our lives, some of us were addicted to drawing. but as time goes by, my art went into the interest of making model houses, and it's electricity, but i failed to excel in this situation in making it to architech. but a few years back my art went into a different stage on making video movies and trailers w/ a game. I did called it art because i made costumes of my own, unfortunately that didn't last. Has any one excel themselves from Simple Drawing skill as a child? or did you go elsewhere?

Hi, ryanong. I just want to say that talent exists for a few people, but good drawing is more a skill than a talent and it is hard work to learn, but comes natural to children and then something changes when we interact with other people. I would urge you not to give up on art but rather to give it another try. Manga drawings are easy to do, fun, and a good place to start, plus there are lots of free drawing lessons online.

Hello ryanong, there are people in this world that wasn't born with this talent. like my brothers who are not talented in drawings at all but so good with numbers and equations or analysis. we all have different talents and it's really on how we use them, we may not be good at certain things but we are good with other talents too

@drannhh: Thank you for your encouragement. I feel more confident with drawing ... I think better i should learn something of drawing first, i have no knowledge of drawing at all. You are right, "there are lots of free drawing lessons online", so that i should search and learn from it first and then try to draw simple things first as flower or a pot, etc. I hope one day i can show you my drawing...

When i was in kindergarten, my teacher told my parents i am good at drawing, as i was able to make a drawing of cat with all its features without any tracing... and i guess that started my love for drawing, when i was in second grade i started painting and using pastels... i used to enter painting competitions in school and even won. the thing is my parents were not supportive of it as a career but deep within i was thinking of taking up graphics art or architectural..but the second option was not good for me for i know it has a lot of math in it hahahahah there i applied in some prestigious schools... but it was of no use as my parents were not supportive of it. so i took accountancy. now i am chasing those dreams again.

Now that you have the money to 'support' your dreams, perhaps it's time for you to truly go with your passions this time. Too bad that there are parents (or were) parents who were not really supportive with their kids in terms of passions, but who could blame them? There are a lot of youths who were given the support, but right now where are they? Still frustrated because they can't make money out of those 'passions'. I guess your parents were level-headed and thought of what's practical. Now, you can do what you want! hehehe.. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

@laydee yes i also do not blame my parents as they themselves had to sacrifice their own passion just to earn a living and to put us to school and yes now that my future is in my own hands, i believe i can pursue it. @Letran what program is that?

Hello Jazeljuan, that's because there's only a few people who would appreciate and buy ART and it doesn't always go that way. would have been cool to have my career in graphic arts. and you know not a while back i wanted to have a my own graphic movie. though i thought i was close, my pc broke and i never got the program back

My friend Maggiepie, who is still too weak to get to her computer and I haven't figured out how to get the wireless to work yet, is a very good artist

She'd like to make money doing it, but there really isn't a lot of room for a lot of artists to be famous. I would've kept doing it as a hobby that might make some money rather than try to be one - there is a lot of truth in the "starving artist" saying.

Hello Elicbxn, wow that's good for her, that's right I remember doing art in my computer. would have cool if i was able to pursue it but that didn't last too. I even thought of getting into arts but I was advised that it won't get me anywhere there. maybe i never should have listened to him in the first place. have a nice day

Hi Letran Knight: I remember that when I was a student in High School I usually make some drawings just to feel relaxed. They were just children drawings but they help me to express my feelings and at the same time feel relaxed and fight my loneliness. At the same time, I love writing and I think I was good at doing it. I still have my passion about reading and writing some stories. ALVARO

I own a very talentless hands, so no, I don't always excel in drawing ever . If your good at some point then maybe you lack more practice or maybe a little more additional education for you to succeed in that. Anyway, I do draw when I was a kid, but when I realized I don't have a talent with that, I stopped, like literally stopped . I draw on facebook though, the application draw my thing just for fun and wow, I really fail and really can't draw.

Hello gaiza12, I did lack practice and training all these years that my drawing stuck with what I have learned back in the days were it was fitted on those ages. maybe there are talents that are suitable to you and not just in drawing, how about singing or using a musical instrument? there's a lot of different art

Singing? hmmmmm ahm, maybe.. I sing in the bathroom and sing by myself when others are not listening. I don't really know what talent I have that is worth sharing to other. Musical instrument, no never tried to learn one ever since I was born.

I'm a frustrated artist. I like drawing and art but art doesn't like me. I've painted some murals on our living room walls and my mother-in-law really liked them and some friends who have seen them was surprised to see my artistic side. Yes they were decent but no they were not artistic!

Hello TOniganzon, how can it be frustrating when you're supposed to be having fun in the drawing my friend. who would judge? since it's our drawings and we shouldn't judge to much of our own drawings, am sure it was beautiful, never stop drwing my friend.

I could picture myself while reading your post! I used to draw excellently when I was a kid, maybe until I was 13 or 14. Then, for some reason, I did less of drawing. Also, my academic performance had a little downward curve and hence I started focussing more on my usual school work. I had a lot of pressure when I was in my 10th grade to excel in studies. The art of drawing that I reduced practicing, eventually faded in me. I couldn't draw even simple drawings of my subjects well. I was sad and shocked :( And till date I am unable to draw well and also can't spare time to try and practice the art again.

Hello Buddha3, that is so sad, it's hard to go back to the phase of drawing when you have chosen to give it up on the middle stage of your life. well, studies are more important and you can draw anytime you want to be, but it's never too late, you can always go back and relive your artistic drawing days. alright? have a nice day.

Like many people I liked to draw when I was little, but then I learned in school that although the teachers used MY drawings to illustrate their rooms, they gave better art class grades to the rich little girls. It is true that as a result of that I felt wronged...and I quit drawing. Many years later I picked up art again and actually became an art teacher for a while, which was really fun and interesting. My late husband won an art contest when he was a kid and he got a scholarship out of that for art training and when he graduated high school then he went to an art academy. So he worked as an artist for many years before going to the university to get his academic degrees. After we retired then he spent much time teaching me how to draw and paint. He was a good teacher. When he passed away then it was a long time before I could pick it up again, but I am finally starting to get back in the groove.

Hello drannhh, that's horrible they were BIAS because simply others were rich but never good talent as you i think. congratulations to you, even though you're husband as passed and am sorry to hear that, he gave you a legacy on something you should remember him by and that is how to draw. that way i think you will never forget him for the best thing he thought you and that is drawing

I love to draw, even when I was still studying in elementary up to this time that I am working. I always draw at the back of my notebook during class and on breaks, I really can't stop myself in drawing something at least an eye or anything that comes in my mind. When I was still young and on elementary I draw in tracing and copying other drawings like robots and animals, even building and landscapes. Although they are not that good at that time I will still cry if you will ruin it and I'll definitely bite you if you do that. At high school I still draw, but I'd draw more on people that are cute looking or chibi as they call it. I joined a group back then which is the representative of the school for a mural contest but of course sometimes we lost. Finally at college I joined an organization that taught me how to really draw properly and It really help boost my drawing skills. Now I'm working in a manufacturing company that I'm a part of a department that's on sales. I still on my spare time and I'm still improving it, I want to become a graphic artist that is my dream, and I hope I could really achieve it.

Hello arvintot, wow congratulations on your life experience when it comes to drawings. you seem to have come a long way to get to that level of artistry dating back on your elementary days, hard to believe you would even get a chance to join a contest. you know, that reminds me, we had this drawing contest on my nephew but only i get the chance to draw the whole thing, he was very happy that our name was called. have a nice day.

Oh. My only dream is to be an animator someday and I want to go to Japan. I am a number one fan of Japan anime and that is the reason why I decided to enroll a certificate of fine arts in college. After two years course, I would pursue another 2 years so that I could complete BS fine arts in college, but sad to say, I did not reach that dream. It is all because of my ex boyfriend who ruined my life and my dreams until I could not concentrate in my study anymore. If I love someone, I could easily give up my life and my study because my dreams and money are not important for me. It really hurts me a lot and now, I am trying to go back from the days where I was still studying fine arts, but its so difficult. If only I have time machine, I would go back those days where I was still at school so that I could fix everything. Maybe I would be working in the animation industry if I did not met him, but gosh... it is all because of my ex boyfriend. I like drawing a lot, but I guess, my dreams would never come true.

Hello Introvertshy, No wonder you don't talk much about relationships these days and prefers to be alone? you know how much i thought about going back and restarting again because i made a lot of mistakes.but the only choice is to move forward, am sure if GOD willing you will find your way back into the drawings.you don't have to go to education to keep on drawing you can research and buy materials, it's never too late. my drawing sucks but my mom depends on it sometimes hahaha. have a great day.

Thanks very much, Letran! Your question carries me back to the tie of my childhood. I used to draw sometimes and years later I found some drawings. But apparently I didn't possess talent and later I simply forgot about this.

Hello fannitia, I am so glad that I was able to let you think about you're past child hood experience when it comes to drawing, it will surely come in handy once you feel like getting bored and entertained yourself with out any use of technology, just simple paint brush thing. Have a nice day.

Back when I was at school, I used to dread when drawing classes were compulsory. I have no idea how to draw, especially to come up with something creative on my own. Even when I traced or copied other drawings, mine do not look nice at all. I'm happy that my children do not take after me in that regards. Since young age they all show some talents in drawing; they even entered and won several drawing competitions. As they are all teenagers now, they seem to take up other interests but they manage to keep their drawing creativity in various degrees for each of them. My first born is taking Art & Design courses in college, and the youngest seem to have the most natural drawing talent among his brothers.

Hello Sishy, Wow i wish i'd join school were drawing was part of the class but i guess i would have been dreading too if the style wasn't my looking.you can always practice and dedication, trouble is that i wasn't gifted with much into a this skill like all the others there. congratulations to your kids who has taken art as part of their lives

I used to draw comics stories. I remember during the elementary years I have a very wild imagination in love. Like couples who are madly inlove to each other and are able to face all the obstacles that hinder their love. I drew people, things and wrote scripts. At that time, i thought of becoming a writer but I gave up on it since I realized that it takes a lot of reading and experiences to be a writer. lol

Hello tess_quianain, that's nice to know that you use to make comic strips and stories with the drawings. so, your art theme focuses more on the love stories there which is good. you should have kept them and showed them here in the internet. anyways, thanks for sharing your experience

I did some drawing back then. And I think I was okay. Sadly, it's something that I did not really pursue, and just like the parable of the ten talents, that one was taken back. Well, maybe not really taken back, but just not developed. But then, until college, whenever I was in class and listening to a long lecture, I could concentrate if I were doodling something, mostly cartoon characters. Twice I was sketching the professor. I think I still have that now because my notebook is filled with doodles. I doodle-draw when I'm bored at a meeting. But, that's as far as drawing has gone for me. Maybe one day, I should pursue that again.

Yes I used to draw when I was a child up until my college days. I don't have that great skill like others have but drawing really interest me. I used to like drawing faces of ladies. At school, of course we draw lots of things as our school assignments. I have a compilation of my drawings which my grade school teacher displayed in the museum. My brothers and children of my mom's friends used to asked me to draw their children's projects. But my skills didn't go elsewhere In fact, when we started having our first desktop PC at home, I stopped drawing... and so now, I don't whether I still have that skill. But sometimes when bored at work, I still draw faces of ladies... but I feel the faces doesn't look pretty anymore.

I've always loved drawing since I was a kid, and I'm still drawing until now. I started joining drawing contests when I was still a kindergarten till high school too. ^^ And now that I'm college I use my drawing skill to earn money online, you wouldn't know how many people are interested to commission drawings in anime style. Well anyway, I never joined clubs nor had I ever enrolled in art seminars/schools. I'm self-taught although I'll say the skill runs in the family but I think I'm the person who had indulged herself to art the most. My sister teases me about having art material collection, she would tease me that I'm such a child for having watercolours and color pencil sets, but I really love them and I love exploring more of this gift.

Hello Jhustinian, that is very nice and great that until today you can still draw something. there was a person here who studied on the same school as i did. before, he was into networking but later he showed how good he is on making graphic logo's most specially about mylot. School was in again and he became busy, but i was fortunate enough to have him in this place
