Will be moving this weekend

Well the time is coming. From tomorrow (Wed) to the following Wednesday we will be moving. Nothing major will be moved until Saturday and Sunday. By next Wednesday we should be totally moved out if this house. I'll be so glad to have my own bathroom. I know it will be hard to get the things I need like towels and wash cloths for my bathroom and new sheets for my bed, but I will make it. It may take awhile to get everything the way I want it, but I'll get by until I can do better. Your thoughts? Do you find it a big expense to move?

moving cheaply just takes a lot of planning. we asked family and friends to help out and we rented a truck so it really didn't cost us a whole lot, just pizza for supper and the truck costs. i did all the packing myself over several months (i had a 2 month old and a 4 year old when we moved into our present house and have lived here for 15 years!) i dread moving again just because we have so much more stuff than we used to have.

Yes family will be doing it and one high school boy is helping out. We are borrowing a truck and trailer for moving I think. I have to buy stuff for my bathroom and bedroom. We don't have an over abundance of towels and things so I will buy my own.

For real luxury sized towels, if you can get by until the end of summer you can often get really nice beach towel sized towels for your bath towels. Trendy colors usually are well matched by the regular bath towels as well.

Good luck in the move. I do hate moving so. Ugh! I bet you could get some of the bathroom stuff and bedroom too through places like yardsellr, freecycle and such as that. Sometimes they have great sales at the stores too. Alittle at time is fun too. Moving can be expensive but not if you plan ahead. Hope it goes well for you.

I understand what you are saying. That amount is really inexpensive for my area. It ranges in the thousands here a month. Do you really think you can afford it?

I'm excited but scared too. Nervous. It's a beautiful home but I'm really stretching my budget to pay 200 for my part plus all the food for the family and my bills. Here I just buy the food. Now I will have to put out some on this house. It's 750 a month.

I have not had to move in years. I would have to sell lots to even get ready. I hope you really like your new place.

When I moved here from the city It cost a lot of money for me. I'm here in town three hours away from where I came. I rented a close truck, I looked for some hiring truck online and I made a good deal they give me a discount. But still It's too expensive I just gonna plan to sell all my things and buy a new one rather bring it on my town.

I don't blame you Lyn. That would be simpler, but we can't replace what we have by selling off what we have.

I am glad that you are finally moving. I hope I can move out soon because things at my parents home is getting worse. I only live with my parents because Randy's health had gotten worse and at the time I needed help. I am hoping that once we get Randy's disability (we are waiting to see if he gets it) we can start looking for a place to live. I had moved from Idaho to Nevada and it was expensive. We had to rent a U-haul truck and I had packed everything on my own. One week before we had moved Randy had spent the night in the hospital because his blood sugars were high and he was so disoriented to the point where he had no idea who he was or who I was. He kept telling me to get out of his house because we were not married (of course we are married). I am not looking forward to moving again, but we have to because Randy's blood pressure is getting high and he is under so much stress. I am hoping that eventually we can buy a house out of state (we both do not like Nevada), but we need to make sure we find great doctors.

I'm sorry that Randy had such a bad spell that he didn't know you. That's just awful. Hope he gets better soon.

Moving out is fun but it sure is a bit stressful and expensive. We have just moved last year and until now, we still have a lot of things to add on our new house. It takes a lot of planning and consideration to the whole family and of course, money is essential. Plus, new faces and neighbors to meet and be friend with, should add to the stress. Anyways, good luck on your new house .

Yes it is stressful. It will take a few days before we actually sleep there in our new house. Hope to have our beds there by Wednesday. SIL has to do it all on days that he has off.

I have not moved in so long, I do not know. I am sure it is a big expense, and a lot of work. It is also very satisfying to make changes for the better.

I am glad I won't have to share my bathroom with anyone. I told my daughter if she wants a bubble bath she can use it.. she has a shower. I have a tub and shower.

When we moved before, there were just so many things we needs lol so yes it is a bit expensive to move but then you can get it one thing at a time.. unless you have the big budget so you can buy all you need in one trip. but it will all be worth it especially if you love the place.

It's a beautiful home. It's a better home than I've ever lived in. I've lived in some nice homes .. my dad built all of our homes when I was growing up... he built 3 homes for us in my lifetime. this home is even better than those... more open and modern that what my dad built. I'll be glad when it's all over.

I remember when we move here in our new built house. It takes me almost a month to put things on its proper places. On the first week, I have some relatives to help me with the cleaning and moving things - primary things. But since we need to buy new things- I have to do it myself because I don't want to sound demanding to my relatives as I know they also have a lot of things to do at home and work as well. My kids are too small to help me by that time either. Thanks, it's been 12 years and now all I need is some upgrade with appliances. Last two years ago, I changed almost all our appliances from TV sets, fridge, washing machine and a lot more. But this time, I have my kids to help me with the moving and disposing things.

if it is really necessary moving is fun but at the same time sad because you will left all your friends and loveones behind specially if you are moving to a really far place. It's expensive, tiring and will really need a lot of your time. But that's the way life is. We have to move on and be brave to have a new adventure.

I absolutely hate moving and such a pain. I know people who move all the time every few months. I just couldnt handle it to be honest. I wish you luck as its very stressful. Im sure with time and patients you will get all the tiems you need and best of all a bathroom to yourself. Right now I basically have it to myself the odd sharing. But while in college I use to have one right in my bedroom which I liked. When I did move in the past normally I got family and friends to help and paid my Dad to help move the big things.

I hate moving too.. it really stresses me out.. I can't do much but my feet and legs kill me... they did last time and I spent 2 days in the bed recovering. I had to use my oxygen the whole time.

I transferred to another house last Sunday. It really takes time and money. Lucky to me also, i have my close friend who supported me that's why I saved a bit.

It will take us a few days to move. Our beds will be the last thing.. so it may be Wednesday until we sleep in our new home. It shouldn't cost us too much because we will be using family's truck and trailer.

Yes, it can be 'way expensive! So many things don't fit or look right or haven't been thought of... But it can be fun, too. Getting towels and wash cloths in just the right color or finding sheets that you really like for what you can afford is a challenge and can be a lot of fun. Like you said, you can get by until you can do better and that can be part of the fun. I think sometimes we (I) get too negative and forget that challenges are part of life. Enjoy your new home!

hi dear PQ its really a big expense to move. I dont recall my first two moves in life as I was too small, I was almost 2 and then 4 when we moved first to my beloved Grandma and then to the house my mother had bought. The move with 19 to another town where I studied didnt really count as I only had to bring my personal stuff there and no furniture as I stayed in a students boarding house. My first real move was when I was 31 and had rented my first small apartment. It needed wallpapering, I needed a bit of furniture for kitchen and bedroom so it was relatively expensive plus it took some time till I could actually move as I am a zero with practical things and I needed a company to wallpaper the place first. LOL. Then I moved here where my husband still lived. It wasnt this expensive cause we chose to use my husbands old furniture and a few pieces of mine, the only expenses were the wallpaper, flooring and hauling of some bigger stuff. I am glad that it will take another 10 years or so till we will move again, when I wont have to work anymore and we can move to a place closer to shops and church then.

Definitely when we have plans in moving to a new place, I believe it pays to prepare somewhat, substantial amount of money, and concerted effort by our whole family is also needed as well. Especially when we planning to move from our town to a totally different town. You have to fix and prepare everything, even from the smallest detail. Earmark some amount for freight charges, utilities expenses, especially if you have movable furnitures and fixtures. Maybe, also some amount for other incidental expenses. With regard to the new place, we may allocate some of our money for renovation expenses in the future. I believe, money can be earned in a span of time but It really pays to have someone, like our partner or relatives or friends, around when we really need their assistance in planning and in the actual moving in. Good luck in your new house...

Good to know that you have those helpful ones. If only I can help, I used to do that kind of errands when I was a kid.
