I was looking a the tv the other day and watching the cartoons that are being shown to children these days..im not fully understanding the stuff they are putting on tv and expect to get a better result in life..Im not that old, but when i was a kid, the most violence i saw on tv was the tom and jerry, the coyote tryn to catch the road runner, and transformers and stuff like that..so it was truly entertainment. then they came out with Bevis and Butthead and South Park and America went nuts because it was "Too Vulger". They tried to ban it..so they ended up trying to make it broadcast late at nite. Same thing with Jerry Springer and those type shows...people were in a frenzy about that because real life drama events were being put on tv..so they tried to put it late at nite..but now..all those same show are being played during the day along with a host of other drama filled shows and we wonder why society is out of control..i am a strong beliver in outa site outa mind..so if everything they see is negative, what do you thing their reaction is going to be..im jus saying...

Unfortunately, there are people like me who enjoy these shows. South Park I think is the funniest show ever to be aired on television. As far as the kids go, cartoons have been playing inappropriate content for decades. Look at the politically incorrect cartoons that Warner Brothers uses to create. Tom and Jerry was considered very violent in its time period. I think their are cartoons made for children, and cartoons made for adults, and it's up to a parent to decide what channel their kids should be watching.

I must agree. I like these shows as well. But I do understand where everyone is coming from because I have grandkids that I wouldn't let these shows. But at the same time, this is an interesting topic.

I think its up to the parental units to take control of the TV and have their children watch what they think is appropriate. Kids will only have access to what we allow. Don't take away my favorite shows because you can't work the parental controls on your TV.

im not sure if your a super human or not but if you think back when you were a kid..didnt you do things that your parents didnt agree with AFTER they told you not to..And its 2012, and these kids these days can figure out things that we cant..We wont always know what are kids come in contact with..we can only tell them right from wrong. And no one said we wanted to take those shows away, because we had them too..but it was harder for us to watch those shows unless you had parents that didnt have bed times or curfews..because during regular kid hours..that stuff wasnt on. As an adult, i can decifer the difference.

as to what you are talking about, i think it is up to the parents but even Bugs Bunny could be seen as violent.

Old school tv was an example of creative genius. I enjoyed looney tunes very much. Yes, there was a little violence, but a cartoon is a cartoon. It shouldn't be taken very seriously, parents should watch everything that their children watch and separate fiction and reality. In my mind, Beavis and Butthead, and South Park are PG14. No kid of mind would watch that before high school. Jerry Springer is just not a show for kids. If one is too influenced by "vulgar" tv, he or she is watching too much of it. At the end of the day, people may say don't watch what you don't like, but there was a time when I liked more than I do now.

Well, for me entertainment is watching cartoons like tom and jerry, power puff girls, courage the cowardly dog, etc. Or sometimes listening to music. I never watched those shows and never even thought of watching them. But in my views, I think that such shows should be banned. But actually there are many people who like watching those shows, so it will be a much better option if those shows are played during the night time. This is because if everything negative is being shown up, definitely a person is bound to go to the wrong path. They will have a bad impact on them and their life. So, even if those shows are being played during the morning hours, one should make sure that they do not watch those shows.

yeah,my friend.me too.I am quite interested in cartoons, especially on watching it on TV.But my parents always try to change a new channel for reason that too much so-called violence are introduced into this program, which is detrimental to my health, mental development after all.As for me, it is ok.Becuase it is the easiest way to connect to a true world rahter than a virtual one.if I am wise, I will absord some good points from it and eliminate negative ones out of my mind.So I still like to watch it in case of scolding from my parents.

i understand that..as and adult, you can handle whats real. But people are influenced everyday, jus by the things they see and hear.
