I was on vacation for 3 days and a half for I had to extend half day there because I was still having fun. I didn't bring my laptop with me which made me miss mylot a lot. My phone is not a high end one so basically, I can't mylot using my phone. So my questions is, would go on a vacation without your laptop? How long do you think could you ever take it without using a computer or a laptop? Do you think you can bare the thought of not being able to check your emails, be online on your favorite social networking sites or check out what's new in mylot?

I agree, you can never feel the fun and excitement of what's gonna happen next on your vacation if you keep on touching your laptop. I had fun without my laptop, but I missed mylot during those days. It's all good anyway because I feel refreshed and on the go of coming back here.

We always bring our laptop anywhere we are but the problem is the internet connection, haha. So that I cannot access the internet as well. But usually, our vacation will last three days maximum. Like, I miss mylot a lot so I indulge my self with it after the long vacation. haha

We do have internet plug ins here in our country, I do have one myself and we just have to add credits for us to be able to us it. Sometimes the signal is really bad but networks now a days have a wide coverage already so that is not so much of an issue already. But, the thing is, if you really wanted to enjoy your vacation, you have to leave your work and online stuff at home

HI there!
I am fine with it. If I need to leave my laptop for weeks or months then I think I could do it. If it is not a trouble for me to bring it then why not? I would perfer to bring it if it in small size but to bring the one that I have-its wider, I think I just leave it at home.(^^)

My laptop is also big and so heavy, you see, I am a petite lady and I am having a hard time carry my laptop with me all the time. I do have a sister who has a netbook which I can use if really needed, I actually did plan to bring that on my last vacation, but the good thing is I changed my mind on the last minute. Vacation spent minus the laptop but end up missing mylot. Had a great vacation anyway, so that's the good part there

If you are hardly to have vacation than I think it is better if you don't bring the laptop and focus more to the vacation itself so you can enjoy it to the fullest!!(^^) Sometimes things like laptop will get away your main focus and great you did the right choice!(^^)

When i go on my vacation, i really don't want to bring a laptop and i don't use a cellphone regularly also. I want to enjoy my time whole day and get out of normal things in daily. I do check a cellphone in the end of day before i go to sleep only. I used to do like that 4 days when i was in HCm city and my trip was great...I will continue to do like that...

You've given me a great idea on my next vacation ryanong . I might be doing what you are doing next time, I might even be totally forgetting all those stressors and worries if I also won't be checking my cellphones from time to time. But, the thing is, I have a small business that needs to check my phone everytime, I might be leaving that to a sister when I go on my next vacation. Also, my bf is in another country and I have to text him on how I am doing, so maybe next time, I'll ask him that we can talk at the end of the day only. Thanks for that very bright idea

The fact that it appears to be so difficult to go a week without getting on the computer may be the truest indicator that the computer is becoming too controlling in your life or mine. Our normal routines can scream for attention, but sometimes we can experience great relief by temporarily breaking those habits. We feel a freedom in our thoughts and then we can look at our life through new eyes.
Something to consider.

Exactly! I really felt so free from stress and I felt my mind was really so peaceful during my vacation. I was so tempted to bring my laptop with me, but gladly, I didn't although there was a part of me that wished I have brought it so I could somehow use it during my free time. But, anyway, my vacation went well without being able to log in online.

Because I earn my money online, there is no way that I can even go a day without it, because if I don't have any money then the simple fact is that I don't get any earnings. I don't get holidays because I'm self employed, so I have to make sure that I am able to save up enough money to get by if I choose to take any time away from it. This is the only thing that I have ever found to be wrong with being self employed, because you don't get holidays, but I love everything else about having no boss to answer to, and I know that I would never change it for the world.

If given the chance to be self employed and I really had so many other opportunities with online jobs, I will surely be doing it myself. I hate having a boss around. But, for now, my online earnings aren't enough for me to live so I have to really work offline. It's a must that you have to bring your laptop with you since that's your means of earning. But, I sure do hope that even one day, you could enjoy a life without your laptop or any computers.

I can stand not having a laptop for weeks... even months!
I'm an adrenaline junkie and I'm just surfing the net finding ways on how to earn! Of course if you're addicted in doing extreme things you gotta have the cash to support it... Like playing paintball, going skydiving... those stuff..
I gotta have a solid business first then i can enjoy my life...
Well that's a little bit of topic.. Sorry about that. So yeah.. I can last long without a laptop/computer with me

Exactly, if we are already addicted in doing something online, it will be hard for us to live without laptop or computer for months. I don't have a laptop before nor do we have a personal computer at home. So I can say that, I can live without it for months. Although, it hard to lose the computer thingy because I work using the computer.

When I am at work, I can't really stand without my computer or laptop. I need to check emails and other things like mylot and my blog.
When in a vacation, I can leave them because vacation is really for fun and relaxation. I just go back to the computer when I returned to work.

Exactly, that's what I did. Although, there are still times on my vacation that I need to think of the advantages if I did brought my laptop with me. Anyway, the good part is, I did had a great time on my vacation and I will surely be doing that next time, I mean, leaving my laptop with me and leaving all my worries with regards to online stuff at home and enjoy my vacation.

I think I can especially if I really wanted to enjoy my vacation. For me work and social networking can wait and I can do them after my vacation since I'll be posting a lot of pics or vids about my vacation. Although I ended up bringing my netbook the last time I went on vacation in Palawan I regretted it and should've left it at home.

You will really be tempted to use your netbook if you bring it on your vacation and will only cause the delay of some of your activities. There's always a first time experience on it so on your next vacation, make sure you leave your netbook or laptop with you so you'll definitely be enjoying your vacation

Sometimes even bringing our laptop on vacation it is still useless because we can't connect to a website some of the hotel that we rented doesn't have a wifi or you can't even browse any because of slow connection. I suggest not to bring a laptop next time on your vacation

Well I didn't bring my laptop with me during my recent vacation. Nor did I try accessing a computer even if there are lots of it on where I went. Fortunately, there is good connection on where I went, so even if I have bought it, I can still have access to it fairly well. But, since I didn't brought it, I end up missing mylot and missing the fun here . Despite missing it, I still did had a super great time without my laptop

Everytime we go on a vacation, I always wanted to bring my laptop so that I can still check my emails and my business online, but my husband don't want me to bring it with us. His reason is I have to go on a vacation and enjoy it without thinking about what's happening everyday in my place or stuff like that.

@adhy: Well yeah, actually, my husband is a bit right about it, because I need a break sometimes with watching my sales and need to relax for a couple of days.
@gaiza: yeah, it is not really a problem because I always tell everybody that I am having a vacation for a couple of days and will not take any orders of those days. It seems to work.

I think that we shouldn't depend on computer too much. If I'm on vacation, I'll leave all everything and I only focus on it. I'll enjoy it all days I can. Then, I'll turn back with my daily things happily.

@tkonlinevn, exactly! WE should leave all our work and stress at home everytime we go on vacation. It's a sure guarantee that you will really be enjoying your vacation without thinking of your online stuff. I did somehow enjoyed my even if I was still thinking of mylot during my vacation, but since I didn't brought my laptop with me, I did had a great vacation!
@adhyz, if you have a business, well that will surely be a different case. You will really be forced to bring your laptop with you if you really can't afford to miss one day without any earnings.

As me, adhyz should schedule a free time to take a rest. It's boring if I must be in a vocation with a laptop and customer's comments!
