Ok, I'm working with ChaCha and someone asked : how much poo do I need for a sample for the vet for my dog? I answered with a kinda funny but informative answer that feels right: Get as much as you can the more information the vet has the more they can help your pup. Also, the sample should be less than 24 hours old and stored in the fridge. Anyone see any reason why this wouldn't be correct?

A pea-size is enough, no need to bring all the crap of your pets. It is so troublesome, bringing stinky specimen. The ampule is enough for containing the pooh.

Well, the stool sample must be as freshest as possible. If you can't take it to the vet right away, yes, you could store it in the fridge. As for the size of the sample, a tablespoon size would be enough for the tests. You should have added that the tests must be repeated because a dog can have parasites and the stool sample can't show this. That's why this tests are usually repeated after a while.
