Christmas will be here before we know it and as a crafter, i am curious to see what others are making this year for Christmas. i hope to be making some magnets, some cross stitch ornaments and a couple of word a day journals. i saw this idea at Indigo (its a book store similar to Barnes and Noble) where they had this little bound book that had 365 pages to write down the word for the day (ie: happy, angry, sad, ticked, joyful, etc) and i thought i would do the same with a loose leaf binder ring and my trusty tag punch for my daughters. i also want to try finger knitting and see if can make a scarf too.

I haven't thought seriously about starting anything yet, but I have a few ideas in the back of my mind. My daughter is buying her first house so I want to make something for that - maybe a throw rug for the living room, but I want to see if she actually goes with the colors she's thinking about first.
If the plums do as well as they look like they will, I want to make plum jelly or plum butter for gifts, too. What else, I don't know yet. I'm still looking for ideas.

Recycled milk cartons where you cut them, tape or glue together. Glue fabric on them and put paper that I cut off from the printer that those last pages that often have not much on. Other recycled paper. Plus put pens and pencils in it. My friends have their notepaper for the phone, pens and paper all over the house. So I thought if they kept this by the phone, there would be one location for that.
Plus weavings. I'm going to have weavings for every body. Take care.

Well, now we are into October if you can believe it. I am usually doing craft bazaars and such but because of my health are going to have to skip this yr. I do not really have any plans on making anything but usually give out jerky from my business that I do.

I used to finger knit like crazy, unfortunately I don't remember how to do it anymore. Other than knitting and not much more than scarves and pot holders I am not that crafty. I used to paint T-Shirts and Sweatshirts back when that was a fad, but it has been years. I did stop in a local fabric store though today because my son needs a plain T-Shirt for school and they were having a fleece sale. I thought about making my brother in law a nice no sew blanket, with the Dallas Cowboy's theme since that is favorite team, but the Dallas Cowboy's fleece was $14.99 a yard, and then the plain fabric for the other side was $9.99 a yard, I figured once everything was purchased that would end up being a really expensive blanket. I am more of a baker than a crafter. I love to give homemade quick breads, cookies, and home made fudge to people.

I will also will be having my brother and sister and my nieces send some of their family photos to me over the internet and then I am going to use Snapfish.com give me printed copies of them and then I am going to make up a scrap book for my mom. Nothing fancy just pictures in a book, but I think she will appreciate that.

That sounds cool. If you want to see a creative idea, go to www.myuglychristmassweater.com and see a creative side to a stay at home mom. After hearing about a party that held a contest on who could wear the ugliest Christmas sweaters, she decided to go into business. Besides making them, she'll go find them at thrift stores and then add more things to make them even worse. She has done really well.

Last Christmas I gave an aunt a cross-stitched picture for her new home. When my cousin saw it, she said "Why didn't you make me one?" So I though I'd better do one for her this year. I already have the pattern and frame but haven't started on it yet. Normally, I don't think this far ahead for Christmas, though.

I haven't really thought about Christmas gifts yet. Right now I'm knitting a scarf for my daughter best friend for a graduation gift.
I had thought about finding a pattern (or making my own) for dish cloths. I've seen some that were crochet, but I'm more comfortable with knitting.

Good day cher013,
I don't do much crafting but I do knit a little, and I mean a little. The only thing I know how to make is dish cloths so I make them for my clients as christmas gifts. I clean houses for a living so they are appropriate for them. I used to knit about 200 of them each year as I used to work with my daughter and we had about 45 clients. Now we don't work together anymore, we split our business into 2 businesses, I only have 12 clients, so I only knit about 75 a year as I give each of them 6.
My daughter doesn't want me to make them for her clients as she doesn't give gifts to her clients. I probably shouldn't either but since I have always done it I want to continue doing it as some of my clients are still clients from back when we did give them out.
You have a nice day my friend and talk to you again soon,
Chris

Well, nothing against you, but this reminder that Christmas is only six months away is awful for me because I haven't even started any kind of shopping yet and I typically love to be done with my Christmas shopping by the day after Thanksgiving.
With that said, I have a couple of friends and family members that are going to be having new additions to their family in the next few months and for Christmas this year for those babies, I really want to make some special ornaments that can be hung on their family's Christmas tree.

I have not thought about Christmas yet, but once I am done with my course I will be able to plan that far ahead (I finish at the of June). I will be signing up for a quilting class so I am hoping to be able to make at least one quilt. I am hoping to buy some glass ball ornaments so I can paint these as well. I already make soap and have a candle making kit which I am hoping to use soon. I told myself that I will not do any crafts until I finish my class first. When my class finishes in June I do not go back until September so that gives me two months.
