What would you say to your boss?

If you hit the lottery, and could quit your job, what would you say to the boss who was a tyrant to you every chance he got? If you made enough money to buy the company, how would you punish this boss once the tables were turned?

That's a good plan if it involves getting him into a compromising position, and blackmailing him. Of course since you self employed, you're buying yourself a drink.

I would definitely quit my job, but before I did I would give a bonus to my fellow PSW's who work so hard. We have about 200 PSW's working there but I would give ONLY to the hard-working ones who do their job well. I'd also give some money to the girls in the kitchen. I would give nothing to the RPN's and RN's who won't even answer a resident's bell when they're standing right outside their door. I wouldn't try to "punish" management, I just wouldn't give them anything. I'd just walk away and enjoy the rest of my life travelling with my husband. I'd take my two son's and their families with us on a super vacation.

Well that would be punishment enough. Are RN's really that lazy? I know they are the top dogs in the nursing industry, but I thought you would have to be a real go getter type to reach that point.

That's just sad. It sucks that they have so much control though in the nursing home.

Well RN's in nursing homes are not the same as RN's in hospitals, at least from what I can determine. Although they all have the same qualifications and education, nursing homes pay less than hospitals therefore seem to attract a different type of RN. Without sounding too harsh, it has been my experience that nursing home RN's tend to be those who are just starting out trying to gain experience, those that are nearing retirement and just putting in time or those that can't handle working in a hospital environment (the flunkies I call them). So yes, even though they are qualified RN's with university degrees who have passed their exams and gotten their licence to practice, most of them (not all) are lazy.

Silly me, I was laughing upon reading your discussion. Not that it's funny, but I was contemplating on the same thought but never got the chance to create my own discussion about this a while ago. Frankly, I am tempted to be cruel and buy the company along with all of the employees working there. And then, I'd make my former boss to be my assistant. But being my assistant, I will be as tyrant as he was when he was still my superior. And if I couldn't work on some days, I'd still come to office an hour before the closing, and make him render overtime. Have him do paper works and tell him I need them right away. If he's through with it, I'd tell him to improve it, and make him stay until 9 or 10 in the evening. Oh gosh, this really makes me laugh. Anyway, this thought of mine is going bad. I guess if I hit the jackpot in the lottery, I would instantly quit my job but I wouldn't tell anyone in my workplace. It's a security measure for me and my family. I believe that the hardships caused by my former tyrant boss has resulted to my perseverance in guessing the correct numbers in the lottery, in one way or the other.

What could make your vision a little better is if you made him wear a ridiculous uniform as well, but you have proven to be quite vindictive. LOL. Your boss better pray you never hit the lottery.

I'm praying too, I think the punishment of an over bearing boss is a good cause to pray for.

If this is happening to me, (not of course) I will buy/build a similar just opposite to their office. However, I am not so rude because all my seniors and bosses are so nice with me and the working culture is totally different for me and I really enjoy the life with these people. I am with a team of 150 people for about 17 years and never felt quit and look for a different job or a new place. All because of the working culture. Also, if I do so, these bosses will definitely appreciate me and seek any assistance or guidance required. Above all, I cannot even compare my income with them as their figures are almost 25 time more what I earn for a month...

I am earning for what I do (in fact much more) compare with others and they are earning by selling their knowledge. Most of the bosses are in their place by serving the service for a long period or they are eligible for it. If a want to become a boss, I should have the ability and power. However, I used to see those boss's tension and how they are dealing with situations. They are really become bosses as they are have the power to command and implement.

Being the boss isn't easy for sure, but a really good boss does resort to bullying his workers. The ones that do deserve some pay back.

That's reason enough for revenge right there. LOl. It's good that some people don't harbor resentment towards their bosses.

I won't quit my job just yet if I won the lottery. While working with my boss' company, I would setup my own business and make it grow and then only I'd quit. If God wills that the boss' company goes down the drain, I'll offer him a job to work in my company on a lower position.

Aha! Very sneaky. What position would you offer him?

Yes, let him have the night janitor job, right? Ha,Ha, what a thought though, I waould have to demote myself, because I am my own boss.

Well I guess if you berate and abuse yourself, you are perfectly entitled to get revenge lol. It must be nice to work for yourself. Do you have employees? If so clothes your eyes, because they might be plotting on you now. LOL.

Oooh...I used to have this tyrant boss and you have no idea what would I do to pay her back!!! I would start giving soooooo many rules of things she MUST and MUST NOT do and stick it on her table! And there are lots of bad thoughts going on my mind right now, but they are too evil to post here.

Lol. I think it would sound like a girl's revenge. She used to like (and I heard she still does it) making rules for tutor for not getting out of the class. Okay, she is right, but one of my friends used to get out of the class just one time because she needs to go to the rest room, and she already talked about her (my friend) behind her back. She ALWAYS talks about people behind their backs. She is always jealous of other people. I have ever caught her peeping in my purse. She never listens to any suggestions. She never accepts any ideas. She doesn't allow tutors to borrow books from the library. She is really mean to children. She is the best sucker to the owner of the course. She doesn't want to raise our salary. And many more. So I really wanted her NOT to say ANYTHING but "yes" to EVERYTHING I say. I want her not to talk about anyone behind their back. I want her to start listening to ideas and suggestions and GRANT them. I want her to be nice to children, like buying them ice cream once a week and give them some gifts to make them happy. I want her to provide the tutors all the books they need. I want her to raise the tutors' salary twice than hers. And many more. It does sound like a girl's revenge, right?

You're going to easy on her. You have to make the rules really humiliating.

If i won the lottery, i would not even quit my job, i think i like what i do and still keep the money and would still keep my job right now.. i would take a lot of days off though and go on a trip with my mom... =) around the world probably. he he given the chance, i would not even buy the company i worked for - i do not want any headaches... no thanks but i think i would be happy to live with the money i have and just enjoy them than risk losing them in the process by investing it.

LOL. This isn't about investment, it's about revenge. Although if you like your job that much you probably aren't looking to stick it to your boss. I will say that continuing to work sounds like a bad idea. Even if you like what you do, we are talking about more money than you could ever earn at your job, and it seems to me investing would be the wisest move.

I would just turn my back to him and walk away with my head held high. Exacting some sort of revenge or being nasty or vindictive would only put me at the same low level as the boss is. It would make me the same as him. I think I'm a better person than that.

OK...the truth... I would be laughing as I walked away and I would use my finger as a rude gesture to him.

i would probably quit but because i work for a not for profit and love the people i work with (my boss is a very good boss, very compassionate) i would probably donate some money to my organization. i would only quit because i have health issue and find it hard to function some days. i only work now because we really need the money.

In that case, I guess we can let your boss live, since he is a good guy. Its a shame you are forced to work through healthe issues though.
