Should We Bring Back Gladiator Games?

The Roman Empire was famous for it's gladiator games. Part of human nature is a desire for violence and brutality, it's why we love to watch people get injured in sports game. The gladiator games were the ultimate show of human violence, and battles of life and death. While I don't propose we use slaves, I wouldn't mind seeing a few death row inmates go at it in a battle to the death. The entertainment dollars would go towards benefiting society, and I think giving a death row in mate a fighting chance to stay alive would be more humane than executing him while he's strapped down to a table. I may just be morbid about the whole situation, but what are your thoughts people?

I don't think people would really go for something like that. But I think we have the next best thing. Full contact karate matches, Mix martial arts in enclosed cages and boxing. In order to beat that, there could be matches with sticks or clubs, but no swords or knives. No killings though. I think if your idea was voted on, and made available, the next thing to come out would be public hangings. It's a slippery slope from there on.

WE don't need to bring back Gladiator Games,Just tune in your TV to Hockey! Not only are NHL players getting slaughtered, but our younger generation is getting concussions and other injuries while they emulate their hockey heroes on the ice! Why not teach our kids to be good sports by playing like gentlemen, instead of like Roman Gladiators?

I think to deny our violent nature is to set ourselves up for calamity in the future.
