every time there is a visitor we would open the tv at the living room so the visitor can watch a tv first. but anyway, so the tv would sometime turn on sometimes it won't work. but it is a bulky tv. not a flat screen we see now on the malls. i feel like asking my brother to buy the flat screen instead of having our old tv repaired. our old tv has been for 3 years only. not that old. but still it is easier to have a flat screen because it occupies less space .but yet i know that we should save money instead.

Oh, it is just 3 years only, not long yet, how is it like that? when you bought that TV, is it still new?
Honestly i don't like to watch tv much, i sleep after watch Tv 5 mins only. Currently i don't have TV and i don't have a plan to buy tv also.
I hope you can save enough money to buy a new flat screen soon.

Hi hotsummer, it's the same that most of the people here like to have tv at the sitting room to entertain their guests. By doing so the guests won't feel bored watching the tv, when the host is preparing beverage for them. And there are topics to chat as well about what is shown on the tv screen
I have a tv in my bedroom before but I rarely watch tv movie after I have owned my personal laptop. I spend most of my leisure watching tv movies and latest news on my pc. A couple weeks ago the 17 in tv in my husband's elder sister bedroom couldn't work anymore. We sent it for repairing and was told it's not worth to get it repaired. The repairing charge would be same to buy a new tv approximately. I then passed my old 21 in tv to her.
Lol... I wish I could have a new 32 in or larger LCD or LED if I could afford to purchase one. It would be really awesome if the movie I watch on my laptop happens to be played on the new flat LCD screen that occupies less room
Happy posting and have a nice day

3 years is not old for a TV you bought new..if it works sometimes, and others not,it could be as simple as a power switch problem...it should cost less to find out if it is worth repairing and if so,to fix it,rather than buying a New TV!

It sounds as if there may be a loose plug or broken wire that is causing a weak connection. Were it my tv, I would find out how much I could save having the repairs done. I would rather have money I can use for other things than to buy something expensive that I don't need.

TV is one of the electronic item we should have not because of the entertainment only but we can see news and channels like Discovery and History which are very helpful in our education, general knowledge and information. news channels keep us updated with current affairs.
we also have big television not the flat or LCD but I am happy with our current television set, because I know flat screen television set is nothing going to add to the old content, flat screen need small space than the big one that is a feature of the flat screen television.
as your television is not so old you should not think about buying new one because it is not going to add to the television shows and content. though flat screen televisions have some features like.
- need less space.
- looks good in living room.
- energy efficient.
- etc.
wait for few years when Flat screen would be cheap and your current television set get any problem.

do some credit cards company in your country allowed the customers to buy stuff and pay it in credit? here in indonesia we can buy thing for the example $100 and we can pay it in credit for example 6 months, or 12 months, or even 18 months, it makes us can buy things easier because we don't need to have full of cash and [ay the stuff fully, it that way you can pay for that stuff month per month untill finish so you can have the new television by easy credit~! :D

Hi! We actually share the same problem. Our tv in the living room is having a problem as well. There are times that that channels are working, and there are also times that they're not. I suspect that the problem is the port at the back where the antenna is connected. Maybe it needed to be replaced. But sometimes, since most of the time it's working, we always tend to postpone bringing it for repair. Maybe you can canvass first for the repair fee, so that you can decide well if you should buy a new one or not. I hope your problem will be fixed soon. Have a good day!
