i am upset right now. when I woke up i found out that my slippers are of no use anymore because my dog bit it and removed the holds on the slippers. this is the 5th time that I have to buy slippers. I did not hurt my dog by the way. I was just upset that I was not able to keep my slippers in a safe place where he cant reach. does your dog do this too?

my son's girlfriend had a tiny puppy who chewed all the heels off her high heeled shoes! it was not nice of me, but i thought this was hilarious! she was not very nice to the dog and i think the dog was getting back at her.

that is funny psychoartist! maybe that was really the way the dog can communicate to her that she was not being nice to her. but on the defensive side, I am nice to my dog! although sometimes because of his too much energy and running around my temper would run out.

Your best bet is to crate your dog at night crate training is the safest way to train your dog and helps them develops a safe place kind of like a bedroom of their own. Crate training is also good if you ever need to travel with your dog or put him on rest after a surgery another good thing to do as it sounds like your dog is bord provide him with toys that help stimulate him such as a long when I leave for my day my dogs get a long wich has been frozen with wet food in it they have to then work to get the food out king now makes different shapes as well for great mental stimulation a frozen rope bone

Youcan usually find used crates online which is alotcheeper
Bones work really good as well so long as the dog is over 6 months if under then Kong or nyla bone are your only safe option

hi there innocents. thank you for the suggestion. for now I think I will save first in being able to afford a crate for him. He is kinda big so I bet it will be expensive. for the moment I would allow him to be free and would buy him a chew toy

hello there,
I also have puppies that bites slippers, shoes and other things they find on the floor.
One time, I found one puppy biting my newly bought ballpen.
My firend told me, they become aggressive biters when they need to divert their energy.
She told me to buy my puppies fake bone toys for them to play with.
I did and found their biting problems was lessened.

I remember the times when my friend's dog was a little puppy. We used to keep all the shoes and slippers up on a closet, so that she was not able to reach for them.
We didn't need to buy any replacement pair of slippers.
Now she grew up and she doesn't give any attention to the slippers.
You must put your slippers somewhere where he can't reach for them.
How old is your dog?

my dog is almost 2 years old but then because he is the only dog he is kind of spoiled and even if we bought him toys he still likes to chew off our shoes and slippers. right now we do have a high closet where we put our slippers.

Dogs need to exercise their jaws I imagine and chewing slippers helps with this a lot. Have you tried buying an extra set to distract your dog, and putting the ones you use in a closet?

hi there philly. i was too tired that night to put my slippers up in the cabinet so that he wont reach it. I guess that was my fault too because I was careless with my slippers. I would buy an extra set or a cheap stuff toy for him so he can chew it off as long and hard as he can. thank you and happy mylotting!

with that, maybe I will decide to stop wearing slippers once and for all and prefer shoes, but then maybe he would love a new taste too

I'm sure he will like that, as long as he hasn't grown a taste fo your slippers. LOL.

First how old is the dog? If its around 2-8 months it should still be in a biting stage just like humans, they tend to bite anything. Eventually they will outgrow this behavior unless if the dog is just chained and not taken care of properly. Make sure to walk the dog everyday at least 1 hour will do. Even humans will go mad if they are chained up for the rest of their lives, just saying.

hello there stephen! thank you for that eye opener. My dog is about a year old but maybe we spoiled him a lot because me and my sister and her friend is taking care of him. at that time maybe he was bored and so decided to bit my slippers off.

hi there chiyosan! yes, maybe it is in the nature of the dogs to bite because they have to sharpen their teeth so that they can eat well and also to protect themselves. but also like humans they would also want to taste what good things they have smelled.

A friend told me that dogs like to bite things, I guess your dog just has too much energy and not a lot to put it to good use. I suggest you buy him those toys for biting so that he'd bite those.
Our dog no longer bites our slippers because he has that toy and we let him run around till he's tired.
Just try it. Or perhaps consult someone who's an expert on these stuff.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Years ago, i was residing in hostel (university life) and was used to draw banners for university election. we had many dogs in our hostel and as it was summer i put off my tshirt on bench and without my concern they(dogs) torn it. It happened each evening and i had to bought a new one each time but cant wear more than few hours. Still, i enjoyed it. I LOVE AIMALS.

this is the first time that we have had a dog because we used to have cats. and cats dont bite things . yeah I guess its their way to exercise their jaws which they use to eat and also to protect themselves from enemies.

hello there trishababuni and lucylakh! thank you for telling me that it is the nature of the dogs to bite and so I dont have to be surprised about it. I also realized that this is the way that they can sharpen their teeth so that they can eat any bone and protect themselves.
