I just bought this laptop and its only been about 24 hours old. I know I use the computer a lot for personal use such as banking, emails, and many sites such as MyLot.
Last night you could tell it wasnt keeping up, kept freezing, and restart the pages. I was getting really annoyed with it by the end of the night.
I started it up today and opened 3 windows (normally I have a lot more open than that). Suddenly it crashed and I had to get my Dad to figure it out, and restart it all. I think Ill be getting a newer computer sooner than I thought.

Is this a new laptop, or did you purchase a used one?

It's always best to buy new with computers. If a computer has issues, no amount of fixing will ever really take care of it. I'd try to get my money back if at all possible, or make them give you a different laptop.

That's terrible!
Are you going to return it to Future Shop? They only give you 14 days from when you received your order to return computers. If I was having that many problems with a computer that was so new, I'd probably just ship it back for a refund.
Have you looked at Newegg.ca yet? I buy most of my computers and parts from their US site. The US site has really good deals on new computers compared to other retailers. I'm not sure how the Canadian site compares, but it might be worth a look. http://www.newegg.ca/

Well, no one would sell a laptop which is just 24 hours old, unless it is having issues. You should have gone for a new one.
Try using tune up utilities, it might help.
Else it might be some virus which is causing your system to crash.

Sorry to hear about that. I would be devastated. My laptop is now two years old and I've became very attached to it. I got it for my birthday two years ago, and if it had crashed the next day I think I would have cried. I hope you're able to get a new one that will keep up with what you like to do. Best Wishes!

My little brother always has that same problem. This is the first lap top I've owned, and I baby it. With the care it gets, and what I'll do on it and what I won't. It doesn't have a graphics card meant for gaming, so I won't play W.O.W. or anything else that's hard for it to handle, I've never even tried to. I make sure to have good spyware and antivirus prevention/protection on it. I've never had luck with refurbished things electronics though. I ended up picking out the Acer Emachine Ameria Series when I got my laptop. It had some good reviews online and was relatively affordable.

Could you return it? I know that it was a refurbished model, isn't that what you said? Still I think it'd only be right to return it and have them give you your money back or another computer. I know this was just a "inbetween" computer, but still.
I take it you hadn't opened anything that you normally hadn't before to make it crash. I'm wondering if they didn't clean it up properly when they got it.

Hi:
In my opinion being a computer tech, I should look for a new unit without an operating system and personally install a fresh OS on it. In that way, I am assured that the new unit is running on a new environment.
If the OS is new, and it is still crashing, then I would suspect a hardware failure due to factory defect or improper installation.

My dear, it can be your Operation System Crashed not hardware, so take it to your vendor, it will fix it if the problem is your operating system crashed due to some virus or spyware
