Could myLot be a social networking site?

I know at the moment social networking sites are the biggest thing in the world, and there are loads popping up everywhere.
With myLot and it's profiles and it's discussions, it's kind of blending the boundaries of Forum and Social Networking.
If myLot offered a more social feel to things (like Facebook), would you ditch all the other networks for myLot?

Mylot offers similar features to social networking sites but it unique in its own niche. Facebook has a uniqueness in its feature like connecting people who have past relationship either as students, birth place and so on. I do not know if mylot have the chat feature in it. Mylot feature is unique also as not all is privilege to use especially those in OFAC countries or countries blacklisted by paypal. Facebook is free as mylot and is allowed anywhere worldwide. As you said, mylot is the combination of forum and social networking sites features

Well, I think mylot seems like a social networking site now since we are all from different countries and we didn't even know each other, we still get to know more of each other when discussion starts. And having conversations through discussions can also be a way of chatting cause we sometimes answer or respond and comment as if it was like just a few words makes it look like a chat conversation.isn't it?
Well, about other social networking sites, they all know each other's appearances and really knew each other mostly by their physical appearances, which we can't do in here. cause not people here reveal their true identities and appearances. Whast I like about here is you can keep yourself private and not be seen by who you really are. only the post you can know what kind of person others are. Or it really depends on how you know the person personally, not just the posts reveals our true identities...

If myLot keeps paying their members for participation, I would definitely use myLot more than all the other social networking websites, even though I might still use the others occasionally. MyLot already has a social network "feel" to it, for example ability to add friends, see responses/discussions from fellow friends, adding your personal interests and the ability to private message friends; but of course, it still lacks certain things that other social networks have. If myLot keeps improving themselves, I don't see why it can't be among one of the top social networking sites in the future!

In a way, Mylot is already a social networking site. When we respond to discussions, add comments and receive comments from others, it is fundamentally no different from what we do on facebook, or Orkut or other similar social networking sites. Yes, we do lack many facebook features. Yet, I do like Mylot for it being different than many sites and for its honesty. Also, even with all the features on one website, I would still use other sites. All sites are planned and operate differently, and leaving one for another is a rare case.

I already have ditched other social networks for mylot. Well quite technically, I was only on Facebook and I didn't like it very much. I've always been much more fond of message boards, and mylot has the added and super-great bonus of being able to make a little extra money for something I love to do. I don't really want mylot to become more socially-oriented, because I mainly like mylot much the way it is. A brand new shiny layout and a few update tweaks here and there would be nice, but I still would want it to be discussion orientated and more like a message board than facebook.

MyLot could be a social networking website in theory, but social networking to me is a far different type of website. And a website that has nowhere near the scope of discussion and sometimes intellect displayed by the myLot community. This website just puts those social networking websites to absolute shame one hundred percent of the time.
So really, I think that myLot is just find as the discussion website where you may find a few friends in your time. It doesn't need to change beyond that when you think about it. The moment it does, it will have truly lost its way as the great website that has drawn many of us here. I don't have much to do with the social networking fad, but myLot is something that I have a lot to do with.

As what I notice in other social networking sites, you will know more of a person mostly by his/her photos while here in myLot, you will know a person mainly through his/her discussions. But I also consider myLot as a social networking site.

Well I like only one other social network myself besides mylot and that is facebook. So I guess of mylot was a bit more like facebook maybe I would use it a bit more sure.
If any social site pays me, lets be honest we are going to hold it in high regard.

MyLot is a definitely a social networking site. The concept may be slightly different than other social networking sites, but it can be classified as such. As with any other site you can vent, respond to posts, make posts with attachments, find other users who have common interests as you. I haven't been on this site for more than 24 hours and I have seem to fallen slightly in like with the site lol. It seems like a place I would be able to talk about whatever I felt like talking about, as long as it is not obscene of course, and have people make meaningful comments towards my ideas or feelings.

It is, for me i treat the site as a social networking site and well. I would say it sure is similar to those, only difference is that you earn here.. Mylot is like friendster back then where you have your own page, but it is more complex with your interests as you can create discussions for your interests and participate with friends for their inputs too.

I think there are many different social networking sites out there. I would like to be on Mylot too. Because it offers money when I am participating here where the other sites don't have any money to give me as a reward. I am already spending all my times on this social network site Mylot. But I would like to add a bunch of additional features like Facebook already now offers.

I like MyLot the way it is, in a way it has a few social networking features such as the message feature, but if they put too many things they would just be distractions from the forums.

Mylot,in my opinion,is a platform for debates. It's not a social networking site like Facbook. We don't use our real names here.Instead,we create our usernames and hide our countries and hometown in our profile. So if someone of our friends and relatives who has been away from us for a long time wants to establish contact with us,he or she,in all probability, would fail to do so.Therefore,I think,Mylot cannot be a social networking site in its present form.
