When I think about the last 20 years and I think about all the inventions that have become a part of our everyday lives, I wonder what does the world need now to make life easier? Cell phones and portable computers have made communication so much easier. Hybrid and electric cars are drastically reducing our consumption of fossil fuels. What gadget could you use in your every day life to make things easier?

Like what you posted as a reply on the first post, I am considering to combine a lot of things into just one gadget. The gadget doesn't really have to be handheld or anything. It could be just a small device attached to your pocket, or over one's glasses like a display monitor (hello cybernetics), some earphones for audio and can be swiveled out of the way to be unobtrusive, and to operate them would require eye tracking or hand gestures. This way you can carry around your phone, your computer, your gps, your monitor and whatever without breaking a sweat. Comfort + Power and Speed = Instant Convenience.

How about an interface that could compute your thoughts into computer signals. I realize that messing with the human brain could get dicey, but imagine the possibilities of thinking something and holograph technology could make it happen.

I considered that. It's such a great concept. It doesn't really have to mess with the human brain. It only requires input. I don't know those contraptions are when they put some round flat rubbery stuff on the temples of ecg patients. It just gets impulses and transmit it as input data to the computer. If someone pulls that off, we could be looking the fasting pointing or rather instruction device on the planet. I'll give a 10 if you won't need wires at all. I'd buy that. that would make my art job so easy. I'd just think about my design and the computer will just draw it for me.

I can't wait to try out a car with an automatic parking feature, although I'm guessing giving up control of the vehicle is going to be really difficult! For every day life, I'm thinking a nifty little cleaning robot that follows the kids around would be fantastic - and when the kids have gone to bed it could take the dog for a walk LOL I think gadgets in general are going to make us extremely lazy in the near future so more gadgets to get us fit without leaving the couch will follow shortly afterwards!

I'm all for gadgets that help keep me fit without getting off the couch. I think you have a trillion dollar idea there. LOL.

It would be the best of both world. Good for the lazy or super active lifestyle. I've seen the tummy shaper, now the legs butt thighs and arms altogether and you got something good.

I was actually thinking something like this not so long time ago. My very specific thought was, what if people lived with just plain daily necessities and nothing more. I was thinking that maybe if we were not introduced to all these technology, we would be living a very simple life, no problems. I then concluded that there are just situations where ignorance can really be bliss.

If you wouldn't have known about TVs exist, I think you would have lived without it just fine, right?

I would not trade some things for a simpler life. I once met a Buddhist who used to rent a Tv from my store to watch the World Series. TV is just one of those invention I wouldnt do without.

There are so many things being invented or recreated daily. Honestly i am sitting here thinking what would make life a little easier for me in the way of a new invention and I can't think of anything. I suppose that I could say a cheaper, better home, something which utilizes solar energy, is well built but more environmentally sound.

If they could make more powerful solar panels that would be ab awesome advancement. We really need to invest more in alternative energies.

I think the world will continue to advance to the max. I believe some of the invenstions have ruined out lives, and the quality of lives. But yes some have advance to be helpfil and save our lives. For example the advancement of 911 and their systems allowing faster response times, and success rate. Also, the defibulator, and other life saving equipment. But some have caused damage to us such as the obesity rate is the highest right now. Why? When I was a kid I use to be outside playing, and not coming in for hours, now kids sit infront of computer, and video games.

What if they invented exercise machines that didn't require you to move around. They would do all the work for you and keep you physically fit.
