Do you try and walk instead of driving/taking the elevator or parking close?

Walking really is good for our health. But it amazes how easy it is for us to drive to the store. To take the elevator instead of the stairs, and for us park really close to the entrance when we go somewhere. I'm working on walking more. Brisk walking gets our heart rate going as well and that helps with our circulation.

In our place, not everyone can afford owning a car that's why we have jeepneys, tricycles, taxi and other means of public transportation. People choose to commute even if it's just a walk away not because of laziness but because of the heat. But when the heat is bearable, people would take the walk and choose to save the few bucks. =)
I personally like talking a walk but when the heat is unbearable, or when I am to meet someone, a meeting with friends or business meeting, I would take a ride than walk so I won;t smell like being soaked under the sun and bathed in sweat. Hehe! =D

Yeah it's a good idea to walk when the weather is alright. And like you mentioned they are able to save money that way too. So it's a win win situation. When the weather is too hot it is necessary to take transportation that way you are exposed to all that heat either.

I always think of walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator, but I just keep thinking ..as I feel I dont have much time to exercise..I think its a good practice. I am thinking to do it atleast a week from now.Yes it helps circulation.

I'm glad to hear that you do take the stairs. It seems like it is a simple thing but it can make a lot of difference if we don't get to exercise regularly or walk around often. I do a lot of work online so I like to go walking in the mornings with my daughter to make sure I get a some type of walking in.

I used to start out the school semesters telling myself that I was going to take the stairs all the way up everyday. But about four weeks in I would wind up taking the elevator cause I was just so exhausted all the time. lol I do however, always try to park farther away and walking more to get to the front door. I don't mind walking in a parking lot, it's the walking up the stairs that really gets me.

I would take the stairs down, but not up. It just got way too tiring, especially with my school bag to carry. Just walking on a level plane is so much easier. I've been riding my bike lately and going uphill keeps getting me! It's good exercise, but wow I'm so out of shape! I'm not overweight, not in the least, but I'm not exactly all steel right now. I'm a tiny person made of total mush.

I understand that. Walking up a lot of stairs is tiring. I don't work in a place where there is a lot of stairs. But I remember what it feels like to use the stair stepper at the gym. I'm glad though that you are able to park further away that way you have to walk a little distance to get inside.

Every time I go to the mall, I always avoid the elevator and escalators. I always use the stairs. It's one way of burning those excess calories in your body.

I completely agree with you. And usually when we are out and about we treat ourselves to some type of treat that we enjoy. So we will be helping ourselves out if we walk a little further, and or take the stairs. Convenience isn't always the healthiest for us.
