When you respond to someone's post, do you include tags?

Tags are useful when you have a webpage, but do tags really help you when you respond to someone's post? I skip the tags more often than I use them. I see the Tsgs section, and I get real lazy, so I skip it. But if I start a post, I use them. Do you use tags?

I stopped using them, its a pain in the butt and I don't see any benefit from using them.

I assume its to help other people discover the conversations on MyLot, but I really don't think MyLot forums rank high on the search engines anyway.

I think I agree with you. I think I would rather put tags on a full article. I just have to get off my lazy butt and write one.

Thanks Philly. You know, I figure they must have SOME use, since they're asking for them. I hope I'm right because it is a pain...Ouch! :-)

Hello rayf227 I try to add the tags when I can think of the tags, especially if I can think of the tag for any part of the Discussion so that I can help the peoples of the myLot community to find the Discussions that they want to find.

Yes, I know. Coming up with tags after you post something can be hard. I have tried re-reading my post but that doesn't always help.

I always use tags both on my own topics and those of others. They help find discussions when using the search and it makes them appear in the "similar topics" column over there --- I also find it easier to add a tag rather be asked every time whether I want to skip tagging or not. I get involved in back and forth comments and being asked that everytime just slows things down. If I tag that'0s it over and done with

I see the benefit. I am working on a web page that I'm putting together but I haven't started using tags yet, but I will.

I used to think tat they weren't important when commenting on a post but after reading mysdianait's reply I will start putting tags from now on. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Yes, I use tags all the time. With my own posts and when responding to others' discussions, I have this automatic feeling of adding tags. I must be very obedient. Hehe! XD

Keep that habit. It might serve you well. Have you written any full articles for any web sites (like Hub Pages)? Ray.

As much as possible I do put tags after comments or discussions cause it really helps a lot and very useful in searching discussions. We really have to include tags to help others in searching and even our own selves too.

I also don't use tags on my comment only every time I start my own contents.I thought if the poster writes a tag there is no need for us to write so I skip it always. But now if my comments make sense maybe I should write tags also. Thanks Ardoy for the info! Happy mylotting!

Yeah, there are times I feel like leaving them out too, but then I feel a little guilty.
