Which way to go, online?

I'm a dating man, and the online world helps me out. There's a couple of sites that I'm on, like pof or okc, where the person who makes their profile shows their photo, tells about themselves, what they're looking for, so you can see if you'd really be compatible.
Today, I was on Craigslist... and I found that it also has a dating portion... but that one is weird. All it is, is a basic few lines of text, so you have no idea what kind of person they are or what they look like, or anything, pretty much...
But, there are still loads of people who do it!
So, my question is, which is a better way to go, and why?

If I was looking for a serious relationship that would last I would go on sites where it gives enough information about the person. If I was just looking to have a few dates I guess Craigslist would be okay.
For a long term relationship though I would stick with ones that I would know if we were compatible so no one's time would be wasted.
Just my thoughts... =)

I think desperation would drive someone to sign up to this site.

Although Craigslist might seem, at least on its face, to be the more unsavory option, I would suggest you try that route first.
I used to work for a company out of Sweden that created dating sites and reviewed them. For this job, I had to make dozens of fake profiles with "real" photos and "real" information there. I even had to engage people at times via email in order to link them. So I know firsthand that some of these sites are pretty messed up.
I still have a few fake profiles on POF right now. You can find one I remember well, as I only made it a few months ago: Jennyjack1. lol
Of course, that's not to say that it's all fake. But these commercial dating sites are a bit suspect. I don't believe that to be the case with actually meeting someone online and hitting it off. As a platform, the Internet is just as good as any. As a specific medium, I'm not sure how much trust I'd put into a professional dating site.
With Craigslist, you might be able to strike something up on your own terms. It's worth a try at least.
And good luck!

Well, man, I think you should go on serious websites, that require you to pay a small fee to enter the "game".
Why? Because nobody would mess up something they ahd to pay for, knowing they will be shut down, and their money lost.
Best of luck
