Disappointed with the quality of food they serve

There is one restaurant my mom and I frequently visit on the past 2 - 3 years. It was a Vietnamese restaurant, serving rice noodle soup, and my mom loves it. Until last year, they change hands of management, their quality of food just keep on sliding down; but the price is gradually going up. That just not right. Last week, my mom and I visit that restaurant again, and it was purely disappointment. Because the noodle soup we had really plain, not much taste on it. With such disappointment, we might not visit again that is for sure. So, that is how capitalism work, if you lost confidence on something, you simply stop paying patronage to it.

That's the problem of having a business the sudden price increase of commodities really affects the quality of food they serve. Sometimes mis-management also and they can't help it but to change what they used to. Only they don't know that it affects the loyalty of the costumers.

Your experience is similar to one we've had here at a Chinese Buffet. The food was decent, but then they "remodeled" and the prices went up $2 a person! Then the foods you did like were gone, and replaced by things I could make at home. You know like sauteed green beans.. who can't make that?!?! If I'm going out I want it to be for something I can't make myself!

That is a true shame. There was a restaurant that we used to go to and they had the most amazing french fries and grilled cheese tomato soup, we would go there just for that soup. Then all of the sudden they changed the fries and the soup didn't taste the same any more, when we asked the waitress she said there was a different chef. We were disappointed and did not go for a while a few months later the restaurant shut down, I guess we were not the only ones who were disapointed by the changes.

That is really disappointing especially if you are used to be on that place and know that quality of service and foods that they served.
Maybe they are suffering and affected by the recession in economy so they are cost cutting or maybe due to the new management that they have.
I think they better improve their management and service to satisfy the customers cause they deserved it the fact that they pay for it.

Have you tried talking to the new management and letting them know how you feel? It could be a lost cause, but it's worth a shot. Maybe you can get them to talk to Gordon Ramsey and they can be on Kitchen Nightmares.

Sometimes, we really can't avoid these things to happen. Like in our case here in our place, change hands of management also. They bought the restaurant but they did not get the recipe which captures the people's tastes. And so, the taste of that particular food is not actually the same taste as it used to.

That's what most of the failing business missed to consider, "sustaining their customer's satisfaction", repeated patronage is really important in businesses like restaurants. Too bad they missed to satisfy you, their long time loyal customer.
People want to get the value of their money. So if you fail to give what their money's worth, they wouldn't come to you again and avail of your products or services.
As for you kingparkee, I hope you'd find another restaurant to enjoy with your mom.

So unfortunately this is with everything. Somethings is really good in the start and you start love it but when it gets popular it just sliding down. This with the shops and all of that. So be sure that there are also other restaurants to check out which can be even better than this restaurant that was in 2 - 3 years ago.
