I cannot forget the experience I had when a colleague of mine woke one faithful morning and they first sight he made was a black Snake beside is bed. It demands screaming sure it does. Mine was also terrifying while I was doing a mandatory national youth service in a northern part of Nigeria, I was sleeping one sunny afternoon in my room, a snake was crawling into my room through the window, my buddy in room had to tap me for we to run for our lives. But I got out of the room and got a stick to strike the snake. If you wake up and your first sight is an unexpected visitor-snake, what will be your first reaction

that is a very scary situation indeed. I think anyone would be shocked to see a snake just when they wake up, since most people are scared of them.
I think i will just slowly move away though, after i recovered from shock.

Oh my goodness, i can't imagine what i would do if i were to wake up with a snake next to me.
Though sometimes i do wake up with something next to me, a different snake!

Hello Chikezie
What a dreadful experience for you!! I agree with you that waking to such a sight would demand screaming. I imagine I would scream loudly and with the great gusto!!
Once, I was hiking and I was resting on the side of the mountain in the grass. I was dozing off and out of the corner of my eye I noticed the movement. I looked and it was a big snake slithering right for me! I stayed perfectly still, and it slithered under me and out the other side and continued on its way. In this instance, I did not scream.
Another time two snakes were in my house. One was a harmless King snake, but the other was the venomous water mocassin. I was very creeped out by this. It gave me the heebeejeebees.
Still, I did not awaken to such sights as this.

I hate snakes. My first reaction would probably be to find out how to get out of the room as fast as possible. I would not want to get bit, so getting away would have to be very strategic. Sudden moves on my part could be deadly, and it is something I would have to think about. Chances are a lot is depending on where the snake is and where I am. Sometimes it may be safe to run, sometimes it may be safe to let it slither away from you.

I'm not really sure what might be my response. I haven't encountered it yet but probably my response would be fight. I don't know what will I do because it depends on the situation. And also it depends with your adrenaline rush. Possible if situation persists and there is a chance to run. I would run. It's hard to risk your life.

I am afraid of snakes, and I even have nightmares where I suddenly find a snake in my bed. I am not sure how I would react if I woke up and discovered a snake next to my bed. I don't know much about snakes and I wouldn't be able to tell if the snake was dangerous or not. In my own country we only have two kinds of snakes and they aren't dangerous as far as I know. If it was a poisonous snake it would be a different situation and I would have to find a way to escape from the room and ask someone how to get rid of the snake.

I think that the first thing I would do is really just hope beyond all hope that I was dreaming about our scaly visitor. Of course, when it is obvious when it is not a dream then I would kind of start freaking. I don't see many snakes around these parts, so there are just going to be a lot of scariness and mysterious nature about snakes. So to find one in my bed.
I think that I would just lay them for a minute, wide eyed, and find a way out of bed, slowly, and try not to be attack. Then hopefully I will find a way to deal with my unexpected bed mate. Of course, it would really come across as a surreal experience no matter how you slice it. It really just seems like a horrifying experience and one that I would not want to live through in real life.

Maybe my heart will stop beating and I will loss consiousness. I am very afraid of snake and I dont even want to see them or touch them even in the zoo. They are the scariest and dangerous animals in the world for me. I am hoping that I will never woke up first thing in the morning with snake with me. :)

Where I live there are no snakes. The few snakes we have are small, not poisonous and stay in the country. If something like that happened to me, I´d go to another country. I suppose that if I lived in a place with snakes, I would know how to deal with them.

Oh my God!!! I can't even imagine a snake beside me on bed... When I see it, I don't know what my reaction will be.. I would scream the hell out of me.. I don't know what will I do.. I'm little too much scared of snakes and don't know to deal such situations. I just hope when such a things happens.. I don't unknowingly touch the snake itself!!
