Bloomberg to ban...

New York City's mayor Michael Bloomberg wants to put his city on a diet. It doesn't matter if you are skinny or fat, you are going on this diet no matter what you need.
First, Bloomberg went after the soda. No servings over 16 ounces will be given at resteraunts, fast food joints, or theaters. If it is diet, you can still supersize.
Now Bloomberg is going after theater popcorn. No supersized buckets will be served should he get his way.
Fortunately, Bloomberg didn't get away with the salt ban. That's right! Salt shakers would not have been alowed to sit on the table along side the pepper. Salt would have gone underground, and packets of it would have been passed around the same as pot, or even heroin.
What's your take on Mayor Bloomberg's quest to diet his city?

Hello CraftyCorner
I am surprised to hear this. I find it rather disturbing, actually. How can Bloomberg do this? How are the restaurants, theaters, etc. reacting to this? Does this simply mean that patrons now have to order several drinks instead of say, a Big Gulp size drink? Is this meant to stimulate sales?
Furthermore, what right has he to dictate what people eat or drink?

That he has some serious dieting issues that he needs to work out on his own, not force it on an entire city. Seems like we're getting to some sort of crazy society. Against the law to eat unhealthy on the coast, and against the law to curse in Massachusetts:
