I got some money out of the bank today and they gave me the new Canadian 50 dollar bills, they are weird.
I never saw money that looked like that in my life. They are made so that they cannot be counterfeit. They are pink with a see through plastic that goes through it.
I know it is hard to imagine what they look like from a description.
Go to this link and you will see it.

That is definitly pretty weird looking! When I read your description, I was imagining that they might be similar to what we have here in the States. Ours have the plastic strip and are a little colorful but nothing like yours. Interesting!

Pink money hey? Very interesting. You know for all the "bling" the world says we Americans have, our money is very boring. Just green and paper, though our five dollar bill does have a pink shadow around the number. But we're not plastic yet.

the colour is not new our money has always been different colours, it is the plastic in the paper money which is new

aren't they weird though? supposedly this will help stop counterfeiting but i am sure they will cause problems in their own right. my hubby manages the cash where he works and he said they are hard to count as the plastic is slippery, not like the previous cash was. i guess the new money will also be in circulation longer as well, eh?

Our USD's are not that colorful at all. I like this, though the money definitely looks a little "taller" then ours does.

That looks like foreign money. I remember back when my Canadian boyfriend got paid with Canadian money and it was so pretty. All different colors and pics of the Queen on them as I recall. The U.S.'s new money is still just green but has water spots and things so it can't be counterfeited either. I bet it costs a pretty penny to produce the stuff too.

This is quite interesting. Looks like they are trying to find more ways like the US has done to keep these from being copied to where counterfit ones can be passed on along. They have actually changed all the money around here except for the $1 bill so it is not so strange looking now. I like your new look for yours though.

all countries now are doing it. I don't like the plastic at all.

I got some the last time I made a withdrawal. I don't particularly like them. I think the mint intends to make the twenties, tens and fives the same way. Or maybe they'll go the coin route with the fives. Anyway, I think I heard that the money changer machines don't accept them.

yeah they already started to print the 20's I don't know anyone who actually got one yet though but they are out. Yeah the money changers are all going to have to changed and the vendors are not going to like that.

I don't know anything about it being a credit card, we don't have the american debit card system here.

I never thought of using the debit card, I still like cold cash. It is more real to me.

Hi friend, i checked the link provided by you and saw various Canadian dollars. We must be very careful while dealing with money matters, it is really hard to determine between real and fake things in this days

yes and that is why the Canadian mint has printed this new money with the plastic so there will be less counterfeit.
