Last saturday while mylot system was down I decided to go out with my husband to walked around inside the mall and watch movies. But when we arrived home I started to sneeze, cough, headache and even felt cold even though its hot outside. My husband made his own diagnosis and told me that I have flu, so quickly I started to drink lots of water, vitamin C, flu meds and even fruits that I know can help me to recover from flu but nothings works, until now I am still sick and suffering from flu. Maybe I should need to have a flu vaccine next time to prevent this kind illness, so that I can go on my usually daily activities. But for now I just need to rest, relax and respond here in mylot.
How about you my fellow mylotters? What are the best way you can do to prevent flu? What fruits are good for flu? Thank you for sharing.

Poor you!!! i hate to get sick..it makes me uncomfortable...however i haven't got sick for a year already...
ya, you did right, eat more, take vitamin C and drink lots of water. You can take a rest and do something at home because lying whole day is very boring...
I wish you all the best

I´d say that any kind of fruit helps as all of them have vitamin C. The best sources of vitamin C are kiwis, oranges and if you like veggies, you eat plenty of broccoli (better if it´s not too cooked).

I usually check online when I want to know which are the foods who have more of a certain vitamin or mineral.

I think it was sign from your body that you need to take a rest. Yesterday maybe you're work so hard everyday and doesn't care about your health. My advice now don't even think about mylot first, concentrate for your health, your body need to rest, after you feel find and fresh you can work again with mylot and make a good task or participate.

If your flu is not in serious level then just take rest and if you are having headache then you need to do one thing you can rub some kind of peppermint type of bum on your forehead and on the brew and go for sleep.Take tea with ginger and you can also chew some dry ginger to have comfort in your vocal and nose.

Sometimes staying outside where there are lots of people is not also healthy because we are exposed to different kind of people and some of them might be sick of these kind of illnesses called airborne diseases. These are the ones that are transmittable by air such as colds, cough and other respiratory illnesses including flu. With regards having flu vaccine, it is best to have it during the early months of the year because flu usually comes during the rainy months of June, July and August (in the Philippines). Every year, there is a different strain of flu virus and the vaccine for that strain is usually out during the first three months of the year. So maybe you can get the injection next year.
Flu takes its normal course of one to two weeks. So all you got to do is increase your fluid intake, eat more fruits and vegetables and rest. You may take medicines for fever and for body pain to relieve the discomforts. Hope you get well soon.

My husband make malunggay capsules and that's what we are taking everyday. I notice that I don't get easily stress and that my immune system becomes stronger. I used to feel really sick and my throat aches when I don't get enough sleeps for so many days but now I don't experience that anymore.

hi Bhebelen, without sounding silly, is your hubby a doctor?
If not perhaps you should actually call your medical doctor and
advise him of your illness. Perhaps it is or is not the flu.
but its just better safe than sorry...
Feel much better soon...

Flu vaccine works for me. It's been years I haven't get that flu. I have my annual shot. Better have it after you recovered from that sickness. Oranges and lot of fluids will the drive the flu away. And most of all - a lot of love from your loved ones will surely be a booster for you.

Fruits that is rich in vitamin C. Lemon, orange and fresh uncut tomatoes. Fresh uncut tomatoes are more richer in vitamin C compared to lemon or lime. Substitute plain water with lemon water more delight.
I hope this may help.

Flu is among diseases that don't have cure till now. Each year the virus developpes and becomes different from its previous forms. However, those medecines are just to prevent from some indesirable effects such as sneezing and coughing. About vaccines, they are only antibody produced by horses injected by the virus.
Personnaly, I prefer to get flu once a year, because my body will produce its own antibody to fight it. And in case I get it again, it won't last for long as the first time. I don't take medicament. I let my immunity to do its work and prevent me from this disease. In this manner, this latter gets stronger and becomes able to protect me even from other diseases. In other words, my health improves and gets stronger too.

I seldom get sick, I think it is more of living a healthy life style, eating fruits, lots of water and all the things you mentioned even if you are not yet sick and not the other way around, that is living with lots of stress and lack of rest and eating unhealthy foods and then suddenly shifting when you are not feeling well already , anyway hope you get well soon.
