I've heard that taurine has a bad effect.
It can relieved body stress but it can damage our nerves system.
In my country, i still find many energizing products that still using taurine, and i don't wanna consume it to prevent any bad effect.
Don't know it's safe or not to consume.

In my country, all the energizers use taurine. It is very unhealthy, and these kinds of products should be consumed carefully. Coffeine on the other hand is a little bit healthier, and the effect seems to be the same, according to scientists. Although, I have to say that for me a good coffee works much better than an energizer.

The reason why taurine is being added into energy drinks is because adding an appropriate amount with caffeine actually makes one more alert than just drinking the same dose of caffeine alone. It's in mixed in in very small amounts though, so one energy drink bottle may not be that toxic. (Over-consumption of energy drinks is a different story.)

I found on a Mayo Clinic site (www.mayoclinic.com/health/taurine/AN01856) that up to 3,000 mg is considered safe (the rest is just excreted in the kidneys), though the long-term effects are still not known. I saw somewhere else that people with bipolar disorder or who are pregnant or depressed should not be taking it.

I've read the article..
So it's naturally in some foods but not much.
thanx for the information.
Maybe they consume too much of energy drink and affect their kidney.
But for the long term effect i better not consume it to prevent any bad effects later
