yeah, as silly as it may sound.. that has been my hobby these days, i just can't help it if i see a big mosquito flying by..i just chase it so it cannot hurt anyone else.. They may bring illness to us. They are just hard to kill sometimes since they fly so fast especially the big ones.. and small ones are hard to follow.

I also hate mosquito, it even wakes me up in the middle of my sleep because it keeps buzzing in my ear. I also tend to ruin my sleep and chase the mosquito coz if I will continue my sleep, I will have a lot of bites when I wake up, which can also makes me sick and get an illness. I also chase mosquitoes especially if they are inside our house.

Haha, yeah it will be a problem if they have decided to enter our ear. Me, what I'm doing every time I hear them buzzing near my ear, mostly in the dark night, I just try to capture it with my hand, and I am successful sometimes. Well, I guess it will be better if they go near our ear, at least we get aware that they are there, not like if they are flying near our legs or feet, we can't hardly hear them, we might get bitten easier. Haha, I really hate mosquitoes.

Thank you for sharing this, you just made me smile!
I like this kind of discussion, not boring, a little sense of humor is what i need.
Why don't you come over to my house and chase all the mosquitoes away. Sure you'll have fun doing them!
I saw a tennis racket like thing that kills mosquito being sold and i was kind of interested in buying them. I think it would be a great exercise chasing mosquitoes and hitting them with that racket!

Mosquitoes are really an irritating creature, nowadays there are more of them due to the rain. Here we get an electric bat (Chinese make) to kill the mosquitoes, I use that to kill mosquitoes and it's quiet helpful ..
I have posted a picture of my electric bat ...

haha, I have the same experience as you chase a mosquito. When I was at collage, there was more than two big mosquitos run into my mosquito net. They made so big noise and bite me that I was too mad to fall asleep. I got up and chased these mosquitoes in my mosquito net. Until the next day morning, I fell asleep again. So I suggest that you must check whether there is a mosquito in your mosquito net before sleep. Make sure!!!!!!!

It is a shame that you hurt yourself when you chased a mosquito. We don't have mosquitoes in my home country but I have experienced seeing them and being bitten by them on my travels. I traveled with my mom to St Lucia in the Caribbean at age 19 years old. The plane landed there at sunset. Biting mosquitoes had our legs whilst we went on a mini bus to our accommodation. Since then I have tried insect repellent. I have slept under a mosquito net when in a country or region that has malaria.
I went to Indonesia and they had a malaria risk there when I was 21 years old. I didn't get on well with the anti malaria pills. They gave me eye sight problems that time. I traveled to Kenya and they have the worst type of malaria there in my mid twenties. I took a different sort of malaria pills but got very severe mouth sores. I had anti mosquito arm bands, anti mosquito leg bands and a net over my bed. I had strong insect repellent on. I am so lucky not to get malaria whilst there.
Last year I traveled to Colombia. That country has malaria and yellow fever risks in some of its areas.

really sorry to learn that. mosquitoes are very nuisance because they not only suck our blood but also inject poison into our bodies. their bites often itch. what is worse is that they may cause malaria. in order to protect ourselves, we eliminate mosquito breeding places , use insecticides or natural predators, window screens, netting, and insect repellent. hope you will recover soon.

I do this, too. I can't help it either, especially when I see one on the wall. Our walls are painted white, so I can easily spot a mosquito.
It's just recently when my sister and I started chasing mosquitoes when they fly by. This usually happens when a mosquito flies across the screen while we're watching something on the laptop. Aside from the illnesses then can cause, they are also annoying, especially when they do this buzzing sound next to your ear sometimes.

No, it doesn't sound silly to me, but the chase can be fun except the part where you have hurt yourself. Hope it was nothing serious. Anyway, I hate mosquitoes and it is indeed terrifying to know that mosquitoes can transmit life threatening diseases. I lost my uncle to dengue hemorrhagic fever almost a year ago, it's one of the tropical viral diseases transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. It was quite sad when he was admitted to the hospital for only a few days and never came back. So, KILL any mosquitoes in sight. What you did was right, you can save thousands of lives. Take care.

It irritates me when I can see mosquito too,I don't usually chase a mosquito but I will spray something to prevent them getting near by me. You are right mosquitoes carrying illnesses and that we should be aware of it.But I think be very careful next time when you are about to chase a mosquito.. You might not hurt by a mosquito but by others means is not right either..
Take care and Have a nice day!

I haven't bought anti mosquito lotion in a while.. before when we got to a place where there were lots of mosquitoes, i forgot to put lotion and the day after i was full of bite marks, even in my face a bit. I don't think i need a zapper hough, they aren't that many.
