Do you read before going to bed?

I used to read before... It was my habit every night before but now instead of reading I'm doing something online. It's sad how things could easily change if we allow ourselves to be fully occupied by our busy lives. For me, it's relaxing to read a good book...I missed it and I wanna bring back those nights I used to read. I will make it habit again.

I usually do my reading in the bathroom. Nothing like soaking in the tub with a book. That usually helps me get to sleep right away.

I too feel the same way if I stared long hours in my computer. But it is always helpful to close our eyes for a bit or 10 minutes before we start reading a book. But then, if we feel so tired we shouldn't force our eyes in reading.

After staring at a computer screen all day, then reading a book, my eyes can't help but get sleepy.

I read, but not everyday.I tried to make it habit to read every day, but, it didnt happen, sometimes i wonder , although i like reading why couldn't i make it everyday. Whenever i see people reading in buses/trains , i feel so happy for them , because i want to do like that, but i couldn't. Now a days i almost stopped buying books, and a few days back i tried to read e-books, but i didnt like that kind of reading.

i love reading always before going to bed... But i do lots of Freelance- oNline-jobs, so it makes me a lot of eye-tiring tasks for doing my assignments online... Now for the meantime, i really seldom read on bed, and before going to bed, But, it makes me open more opportunities doing my book readings after I wake up...
My best regards to all My LOt Friends and Friend-to-be-s...
God Bless Everyone, and more power!

I'm with you, reading a book in a traditional type is better than ebook. Well before I used to read while I am travelling but since I became so busy now thing have change. That's why I'm trying to bring back those days. We can improve our knowledge on everything and feel relaxed as well.

yeah when we are busy we tend to forget reading before we sleep especially if our eyes were already tired. In your case, I think you are spending most of your time in online jobs that could really stressed out your eyes. Have some rest so you could find time to read before going to bed. Thanks.

I read every day, but during daytime. In the evenings, I rather prefer to watch TV as I usually am too tired to get my mind fixed on a book, so the next day I may have forgotten what I read the evening before.

Tv shows aren't interesting for me neither. I prefer educational documentaries or a good movie. Which kind of reports do you read?

I see, you love doing it in daytime. At least you make reading as your habit coz you can do it every day. Well, I rarely watch TV shows, I only want to see news but most of the time I prefer to read reports online. Thanks.

so reading a book for you is like a sleeping pills. It makes you sleepy when you started to read. Well, if our eyes are tired that is a very normal thing. Some people like you who are having a hard time in getting their sleep find it effective to read a book as a cure to their sleeplessness. Thanks!

that was so nice of you to read the most important book of all, the Bible. I like doing it in the morning. I also like to read story but I prefer true to life stories wherein I can learn from and some informative articles too. Thanks.

I'm the same way, sometimes I don't pay attention to the time and I'm online all hours of the night. I used to get settled in around 11 and read until I couldn't hold my eyes open and it always helped me go to sleep, even when I wasn't tired. I have shelves of book around here that I've picked up over the years from garage sales and library sales that I told myself I would read, and now they don't do anything but collect dust. That is a good idea though, maybe I'll do that tonight for old time's sake!

yeah, for old times sake we should read. It brings back all the memories we had before, even though things are different now we can always bring back the past and be in it for a while by doing the things we used to do before like reading at night before going to bed.
I also used to have collections of books particularly novel stories that I bought from different stores. Although my favorite books to read now are no longer novel stories, I still would like to bring back the habit of reading every night. We learn more as we read, we engaged ourselves in reading and as if we are in the same place or situation. That is how I feel when I read something.. but the greatest hinder is the limited time. I guess we should have a fixed schedule and follow it regularly. Thanks for sharing.

yes it's so nice to read a book when the house is quiet and nobody bothers you. I can concentrate and feel so relaxed when I am reading with a quiet surroundings. I think the most conveniet time for me is at night time before I go to bed.

I too enjoy reading when I lay down for the night.
I'm able to download books to my phone which is perfect. I can change the lighting on the phone and not disturb my husband with page turning.
I can not lay down for the night without something loaded on my phone. It's a good distraction from the days events.

I used to write it into my schedule that I read a few pages of a book before I go to sleep.
But that didn't last long. Most nights I am just too tired. I get in bed and sleep like a rock, with no strength or want to read anymore.
What I have been doing for the past 3 months is to start reading for 15 minutes while I'm taking my 20 minute bath every morning. This is a good arrangement. I take a nice, relaxing 20 minute bath while I read four to six pages.
This works well.

Most of the times we can make schedule but because of our busy lives it's hard for us to follow on a regular basis. I cannot read a book while taking a bath, I am always in a hurry.. but I like listening to audio book or reading few pages while travelling before. The good thing is, if we make it habit to read a book each day it will be part of our routine and schedule. So the secret is to do it on a regular basis.

I only read books in the night when I feel like it. Sometimes the book that I'm reading makes me fall asleep but when I find it interesting, it keeps me awake till midnight or later. I have a stock of books in my phone, I love reading but now I try to refrain from it because it's starting to affect my vision.

well I prefer the traditional type of reading book than doing it via phone or ebook. I tend to be like you, if the book is interesting it keeps me awake until midnight or whenever I feel like to sleep.
