How important loyalty in love?

I guess that is really important in my perspective. If you are not loyal at all, why would you expect people around you be loyal to you. How do you feel if someone you love so much also betray you? That is the same question you ask before you are going to do something off track. There were many relationships I saw in reality, they are lack of loyalty, and lack of real love. I guess the equation between loyalty and love can be equal.

its important but so are many other aspects... trust, forgiveness, empathy, support & respect if you can't be loyal then you do not love the person. if one side won't stay loyal there can be no relationship.

Yes, I would say that loyalty and honesty makes a relationship strong. If somebody is going to go along with lies in their relationship, I can't see any point in that at all. It would bring about mistrust, or the partners would stop caring at the end of the day and more likely to go their separate ways. _Derek

Loyalty is important. But Loyalty is always an issue to those new couples or in early stage of relationship, in reality loyalty is forgotten by those martyr wives, they chose to disregard this loyalty in their relationship than permanently losing their partners in life. I know a lot of martyr wives..they chose to accept their husband's disloyalty than losing them forever.

I think this applies to all - lovers, friends or even family. I believe, love can exist without loyalty. But true loyalty cannot exist without love. We can still love that person even not being without him/her. Example, you choose to let him/her go and leave you just for his/her own happiness and not yours. How can you be loyal without loving him/her? That would be a fake loyalty if you are just loyal because of the benefits you may received from him/her. Loyalty is one of the factors that can make a relationship last...love has been turned into hatred, heart have been torned apart and without it many family have been broken. Loyalty is essencial to build a good foundation of a strong connection with too people in love... But not everyone can love and be loyal, there are a lot of temptations around, some might even love their partner but week in terms of other points... sexually then loyalty is not anymore there...then everything will turn into a bunch of lies that will lead to another fail engagement...

You have to be loyal to your partner, because if you get married to them then you have made that promise and I don't think that it is fair for you to break the vows that you made on your wedding day. If you were planning on not keeping your vows then there would have been no point in making them in the first place. Your partner is supposed to be the one person who you are able to talk to about anything that you like, and this means that you need to be able to trust that they're going to be loyal to you in any situation.

Loyalty is vry important in every relationship. Without this factor, there is no way that relationship will grow. Sometimes a lot of men can't handle this, they are only good at the start of relationship but they cannot maintain to hold it. Loyalty in love for me as a married person was very important because this is the foundation of the relationship, without it the relationship will fall apart into pieces. I think loyalty one of the most important part of being in a relationship. You should always be loyal to your partner no matter what. Whether every love have this? In the past maybe, but in a world like today, loyalty in a relationship is getting lesser and lesser. Why is it lesser, because people are being more and more selfish and don't trust their partners. It's sad that people think they love anyone but themselves. It's like the toddler who thinks he can steer a car from the back-seat with his seat-belt-buckle. The type of relationship you're talking about: one loves oneself through the other person (thus treating the other person the same way one wants to be treated by them oneself). If you want them to treat you as something so valuable that they can't stand to share you with others, treat them that way.

I think that loyalty is one of the most important things in a relationship. If one of the partners cheats, for me it means the lack of respect, and also, even that the love is not so strong. If you refer to loyalty as being caring for the other doing everything for the other and so on, I think that this kind of loyalty should not be taken to exteme. Too much attention might get you suffocated.
