Food Trip: Are you into it?

hi tess! yes, i think it is fun to try out new foods or restaurants while travelling, especially if travelling somewhere that you are not familiar with ...mr. psychoartist and i love to travel...we have recently moved to a new place and i am looking forward to trying all the scandanavian foods that we do not know...we are also looking forward to visiting back home and eating the foods we love that we grew up with....mr. psychoartist loves baklava and i am a big fan of tiramisu...i tried a russian cabbage dish on a cruise in january for the first time and i really loved it! i think that the foods you have on a journey can help with memories, good or bad...i know one time we visited a restaurant called bubba gumps in charleston, south carolina and it was disappointing, not as good as we had expected...i have read in travel magazines that now there are food/cuisine tours of different countries or places...i used to like to watch anthony bourdain no reservations on the travel channel, he is a cook who travels to different countries and talks about the countries sites and foods! it is very interesting...his programmes about spain and ghana, west africa made me want to visit there and try their food...

I used to food trip and try different foods in some places I went too as long as the food looks nice and delicious.I really like and love to eat a lot.I am so frugal on things but don't hesitate to spend in terms of food.

I think a big part of traveling for my wife and I is the food; we love going to different places to try the food/restaurants that they have around the area. In fact, we actually make trips to certain cities/areas in order to have food, try new food places, or go to our favorites. For example we love going to San Diego; we have a number of places there that rank among our favorite food places. Whenever we make a trip down there a lot of times we don't have much more planned than visiting a certain restaurant. We might find other things to do after the fact, but the food drives us. Next month we are going out to Vegas for a couple of days; although we are going there to have some fun, we also have a couple of food places on our list to hit because it's a big part of our trip out there. we don't spend too much money on it, in fact I think that we usually do a great job of budgeting and having money to eat and still enjoy ourselves.

oh yes, i love food trips, whether i travel or not. I would love to travel and eat but that would be too expensive. I am saving for it though. what's bad about food tripping is the damage that it does to the waistline. it's so hard to trim the belly bulge once it's there.

your idea is very good, but since we all have only one stomach , we can go to only one good hotel in a day. i have been doing it, as i am located in a super town for eating , that is "Bangalore".

When I travel this is something that I would be interested in. Unfortunately though I don't get to travel often and do not have much money to spend only on food. So if I get some money eventually then I will put this on my list of things to do with it. Thanks for the suggestion! I think it will be a lot of fun and quite enjoyable to try out the cuisine's of different places.

I am strict about my diet which is vegan. It is more challenging than a vegetarian diet when traveling overseas. Therefore if possible I take some vegan snacks with me. I like self catering accommodation for that reason. In a Spanish speaking country the supermarket isn't too easy. I made a mistake with nuts and got ones covered in garlic. So it is not always what the product looks like. I don't like to eat out due to not knowing or trusting if the food is vegan. I love tropical fruit and it is a lovely treat when I get it. I send lots of money on food and drink. I buy soya drink and fruit juice to drink. I like to buy fruit, vegetables, nuts and healthy bars.

I do this..me and my hubby does. lol we would like think of what is good to eat and we would go and eat it! it is one of the most fave things we love to do but lately since i cannot eat that well..no food trips lately.

When we go to other places, I don't usually into food trip. There are some instances when I get curious abut the food and I am hungry, I'll try some but not all.

No i am not into it. Usually when i go some new place i try to visit the famous place or beautiful place. So usually i don't waste lot of money for eating when i travel.Though i love to eat.

I would really love to go there if we gonna have a food trip.Of course i like sweet things when i'm really sad.Especially chocolate makes me feel good.lol,once i saw a movie about road trip,so i think with food trip.Wow,such a nice way to relax.

I'm into it too but now that I already have hpn, I minimize food tripping. I only do it sometimes.

Yes I do, you'll be in that specific area once, so I want to taste its specialty. Your may not be there again so enjoy everything. I love to eat by the way, that's why I'm spending much on this.

I know I like eating. I would love to try different food, in fact I love trying out other delicacies whenever I have the chance. If only I had more than enough money to spend on eating, food trip would definitely be in my everyday routine.

I really love food and i am more than willing to spend and to taste the best food in the town !! but of course i know my limitations. Like for example since i am not that young anymore, i have to avoid pork, beef, etc. A taste or a little is still good but i don`t want to be obsessed with it. I also know my limitation when it comes to price. Like i will taste it myself first, before i treat my family there. But our family do love to eat !! We still enjoy even midnight snacks !!

hi there tess_quinain, with reference to your topic discussion, i am one of the guys who loved to eat. thus, doing a food trip is one of the things that i loved to do. that, whenever i visited a new place, i do make sure that i have tried and tasted the food specialty being served in that place. and i want to share this food experienced to the other friends who are not yet able to come to that place.

Yes, when I am on a trip, I always eat a lot and spend a lot of money on foods. It is very nice to try their delicacies.

Before I go to travel in a new place aside from checking night market I also check for the famous food and best restaurant to that place. I love to try new and unique foods but sometimes I dont spend much money for food especially when I am travelling because I am saving it for some important matter. Since I love Japanese and chinese food I already tried almost all the best restaurant here in my city but we dont got there more often since its little bit expensive, we only go there if we have special occasion.

Food Trip, Yeah I'm into it. But lucky you if you stay slim and healthy.
