Guess what!?! My little Miss Keely Jenn arrived after a very long labor on 6-26-12. My daughter had a tough time with her. She went in to be induced Sunday night/Monday morning at 12am and didn't have her for 24hours. Poor dear..but what she did was magnificent. Oh..and did I mention that the Jenn in her name is after me?
I am very proud. I, of course, have been with both mom and baby through it all and let me tell you..those hospital accommodations are not very nice for the royal Meemee (that is what Keely will call me) I did get a bracelet though that allowed me to do what I wanted with the baby..lol.
So..that is what is newest in my life and, I must add, extraordinary. She has given me a breath of fresh air. To make this a discussion...anything new going on in your life? What have they meant to you?

Congrats grandma, is this your first grandchild? I think it is awesome your daughter named her after you, what an honor..
Anything new in my life? Afraid not, just the same boring days full of work and trying to revise my story. Though tomorrow will be quite busy for me. My niece's grad party followed by my neighbor's party she is throwing because the community is having their annual fireworks display. Though I have heard rumors they may cancel due to the drought, but still the food and swimming will be fun..:)

Wow, that stinks...:( I have already heard some people shooting some off here and like Ca, it is illegal to set them off, but that doesn't stop those who insist on doing it. So, maybe I should water down my house before I leave for my neighbor's Saturday? Knowing my next door neighbor, if they don't go to the display or it is cancelled, they will set their own off..

hi carm wow just realized its not long til the fourth but hav e seen few firework stands for sale around.most cities here in Southern California in Orange county anyway forbid shooting off fireworks in your own yard. there are free firework displays all over orange county anyway. One year a condo in the complex we had lived in
burned to the ground from fireworks flung onto the roof, nobody was home and the fire dept was not notified until the house was
almost engulfed.the owners were down town at the city fireworks display.imagine coming home to find your home burned down completely wow.

There have been some major warnings here about fireworks. I have heard there might be some cancellations where the fireworks shows are concerned. We hit records temps here and things are very dry right now. It is scary.
Keely is my first and I am very honored that Kimber followed a sort of tradition that I started. I gave her my mother's middle name and my other daughter, the other grandmother's middle name.
Thanks for responding and I hope you have a great time at those parties.

Yes...I will answer to whatever she calls me. I am already crazy about her. I can really understand where your coming from when it comes to those grandbabies. A lady told me once that you actually love them as much if not more than your own children. I thought it was impossible at the time but I understand a bit more about that view now. All I can think about is kissing those little cheeks.

Well, congratlulations Grandma! How's it feel? Pretty warm,eh? 24 hours of labors doesn't sound fun. Mine was 16. Sure glad I only did it once. lol My daughter's kids are like having some of my own anyway. Well, Meemee, nothing new here. You know by my discussions. So, anyway, lover her up and enjoy.

I bet she is a sweet li'l thing too. Can't see her real well in the pic. When my last grandchild(my grandson) was born I would go up to the hospital late afternoon and stay until 10-11p and would be holding the baby all that time unless someone else came up and wanted to. They only stay small for a very short time so takes lots of pics grandma. Enjoy!

I was at the hospital alot too. She had such a tough time with the labor that I hated to leave her for long. It also gave me a reason to care for the little one. I had a bracelet that allowed me access to the baby when I wanted..lol..so the moment I would walk in the hospital I would make a bee line to the nurses desk and ask for her. You should have seen me wheeling her down the hall and quietly into the room while her mom and dad slept. Here..maybe you can see this one better.

It is wonderful! I can't believe how crazy I am about her already and she has just been here a little while. I have always heard that you love them as much, if not more, than your very own children. I thought that would be impossible but I am doubting myself now. You know what they say about walking a mile..LOL..well...I'm looking at another view of life now I guess.
Thanks for the congrats!

Congratulations, Jen!! Who needs a discussion........I'm sure that beautiful baby girl is discussion enough! Not sure when I will get that kind of surprise again, since I am not sure if my children are planning to be parents again........but I do have 12, so perhaps I shouldn't be greedy!! lol Enjoy that little one...........she will grow up too fast......my youngest will be 4 in August!

I am thinking it may be quite some time before I have another one. Give me lots of time to spoil my first one..LOL. I have been known to be wrong though..I wasn't exactly expecting Keely news when I got it. I have to say that some of the best things in life aren't planned perfectly.
Thanks for responding!

Wow, congratulations grandma!
They say that when a baby is born, the joy of the parents and family is very overwhelming. I believe that must have been what it was for you and your daughter, although I can't really relate to it personally because I haven't had one yet. My youngest sister was born when I was still young so I don't really remember how I felt. Anyway, once again congratulations!
As for new things in my life, I could say this one thing. It's not really a new thing but more like a self-renewal process. I have promised that I will be less indolent and more productive everyday, so today I am about 80-90% done with cleaning and fixing my room. That's an achievement for me because I have been planning on this for weeks now. Whew! I just hope this motivation goes on.

Now that you mention it...I have a room I am wanting to clean out...LOL.

It seeems like yesterday I was changing her diapers and swaddling her and now..I am teaching her how to swaddle and change her own baby's diapers..lol. WOw...makes me feel like I've been around for a long time.

I'm really happy for you and your beautiful family. Some news in the world is really good news and this certainly is. Glad everything is well and hope your daughter gets the rest she needs. Meemee that is interesting. What does it mean to you? I know the name Meme a french name I've always considered meant very much like the person but I suppose might have different meanings. I also think the sound of it spoken is so cute. This is going to make for some really nice pictures. What a wonderful thing to share. God bless you all.

Meemee actually started out as a joke when my children were little. When they were naughty I would tell them that it was ok...meemee had a plan. That when their children were born, Meemee would spoil them rotten and give them a taste of their own medicine I don't know where I picked up from to be honest...so it only seemed right that I would be Meemee after all the threats
Thanks for the well wishes and blessings!

CONGRATULATIONS! Sorry to be so late. I guess the little one is home now and settling in. How lovely for you all.
My Dad's farm has been sold and I have collected all the stuff that was my share from the farm. I won't be returning there. I walked around and said goodbye to the place and in doing so I gave myself closure. It's a huge wrench to leave.
Now I am beginning yet another chapter in my life just like you are.
My very best wishes to you and your family...especially the newest member.

You look way too young to have a daughter that has just had a baby. Congratulations on the birth of Miss Keely Jenn your daughter's baby girl. It is a shame your daughter had a tough labor lasting 24 hours. I had my birthday last week so I am new to the age 40 years old. It was quite a shock to leave my thirties. I finally managed to visit the spa in Bath on the day of my birthday. That was lovely and relaxing. I hope mom and baby girl are doing well. Once again, congratulations.

Catepillar is quite international isn't it? I read that they are everywhere now. I bet they pay very well too. A guy I used to work with got a job at Catepillar and I knew if he was leaving what we pay engineers to go there, he was getting a sweet deal.
I am not sure that I would want to live anywhere else, but I would love to visit as many places as possible. The only place out of country I have been able to go so far is Japan. It was a trip that I never thought I would have but I guess life has a funny way of surprising us.
That name sounded familiar but I can't say that know him.

Thanks you laken!
I am glad to hear your job is going well. It can make a world of difference to like what you are doing. What in the world is your sister doing in China? I would love to visit there. I bet your mom had an amazing trip and glad to be home.
I have an older son that I am constantly hoping great things for but he sabotages himself to the point that I can hardly bear to think of it. It's tough.
I love your attitude and I think that people that hold onto the good and let go of the bad..well...wonderful things will keep happening for them. You keep that close.
Take care and thanks for the congrats.

your very welcom jen.. my sister married a guy and he got a job with caterpiller
co.. and his wanted him to china for 4 years.. so that is why she was in china
she stayed almost 3 years over there with him, and my mom went to vist for about 2 months, now mom is back :) she hated it over there..
and so did my siter after the new wore off, she also got to travel to japan alot with her hubby and they had all expensises paid house bills and all while in china
so my sister and her two kids moved back to Illinoise, and bought a house, but her
hubby has to stay one more year. in china, to fill the term he signed for his job
i dont know why, but i have never wanted to go to another country, my brother and his wife lived a couple years in spain .. they said it was ok, he sent pics and they looked ,like terrible places to me..
he and his family are now moving from okalahoma, back to ky about 30 minutes from me and my mom.. so were all excited and my sister and the kids are im illinoise
close as well.. so maybe God will allow all of us to be a family again, and repair what the devil tryed to destroy our family..
i have a queston for you ? do you know a guy named jason fox? i use to know a guy
by that name he was from morristown tenn.. just wondering what ever happened to him..
take care, God bless you and your family :)

Hey! Although I'm a bit late, I still would want to send my congratulations to you and your daughter.
I was just reading the first response in this discussion (by LL), and how she mistook you for 27/28. Your profile pic doesn't really show that you're already a Meemee!
I hope you're having all sort of fun with the baby (including diaper-changin').

hi dear Jen congrats from me to you first of all. Now you are a meemee and when I read the first lines of your discussion I knew her named Jenn is after you..... I am so happy Keely Jenn is here now and I bet your daughter will be a great Mom to her.
You know about the new thing going on a year ago and my life having gotten better now for sure and I still enjoy life the same way cause I am free for the first time in my life and thats still such a great feeling. My friends back home I met a few months ago have also noticed it from how I look and behave that my life is turned upside down in a good way.

Hello my dear RitterSport! I am so happy to hear that you are still doing well and free. I do remember and I can not tell you how much I feel like you deserve that.
Yes..I knew it might be a bit obvious that Keely Jenn was named after me I guess it makes me feel good to proclaim it. I am very proud of her and my daughter. Now that b/f, I still have my eye on him but he did well for her through the delivery.
Thanks for responding.

I am so happy and glad to hear that this BF still supports your daughter and obviously wants to be a good partner to her and hopefully a good daddy to his child though he is a bit young.
