I grew up in Alaska, and my brother-in-law would set up crab traps in the ocean. He would often cook fresh crab, and let me have some. I could not believe how great it was. Of course, since then I have not had anything close, but I still enjoy any kind of crab. Do you enjoy this food? Why does it taste so good?

Hello dansazz
I don't know why crab tastes so good, but I do know that I enjoy eating it. I have often wondered how hungry was the first person to ever even entertain the idea of eating a crab?
Peace

I have heard somewhere that shell-fish are forbidden for man to eat, but then maybe that is kind like the Muslim don't eat pork or some people don't eat meat on certain days.
I have never eaten fresh crab but if it is like lobster then I would not like it. I like crab legs and never miss a chance to get them.

We are on the same boat. I enjoy crab very much but it is very costly here in the Philippines. Lucky for you that you get to catch them fresh from the ocean. I commit that on my birthday, this coming July 16, I'll be buying 3 to 4 kilos and cook them with coconut milk - just like what my mom used to make. Yum yum! Definitely, the entire family together with my mom and brother will have a blast getting the flesh out of those shells. Mouth waters as I think of them. Hmmmm...
