Another source of Vitamin C BETTER than Orange

Almost everyone grew up knowing that the citrus fruits are the rich sources of Vitamin C. So, I thought, too. And, I even was very dismayed since I don't like citrus. It's a relief when I learned about Bell Pepper being loaded with V-C. It's also packed with fiber and antioxidants...plus it is low in sugar. There's also a report it's good for the eyes. Whoa! I don't really eat them. They are, to me, but garnish. But, when thinly sliced and mixed in red pasta sauce, I can forget about them being there and consume as much vitamin C as my body needs. TRIVIA TRIVIA!

Cool. Well, I, too, wasn't aware although I made a research about it since I had to write about it for a coffee product which uses it as one of the coffee's ingredients. It's really packed with many health benefits as I found out. I wonder where can I get it for free, though? You mentioned almost every household have a tree. I only know they're being sold in groceries. heh

at first, I was also not aware about the benefits of this wonder leaf or what they call miracle tree. It is very common in our country that almost every household has this tree. good day!

Ah, yes that pepper. I love that pepper as well. It is called capsicum here if i am not mistaken. It contains a certain chemical that is heaty or thermal which helps burns fats as well. I got introduced to this pepper by my bodybuilding buddies from bodybuilding.com forum. Of course it is better than orange the only problem is that orange taste better and also cheaper and easier to find compared to a good quality pepper.

Oh, thanks for reminding me that it's also a good choice of food if you wanna lose weight. It helps burn fats and it is also a good antioxidant. So, you're into forums, as well...the paid ones?

lemon - Rich in vitamin C
Citrus fruits are not also my favorites but enjoy them when juiced and added with some sweeter and ice cubes. I love lemon juice in particular. But yes you are right, Vitamin C can't be found in Citrus fruits only. Watermelon has lots of vitamin C, even turnips do have and actually all fruits do have this and leafy green and fruits vegetables as well. Bell pepper is one...yes you are right. But make sure you choose organic bell pepper or better yet plant it in your own garden because most bell pepper in the market are bombarded with chemicals.

I didn't know that. Does Bell Pepper have as much vitamin C as lemon? And hey, if you like lemonade, that is a good source of citrus too. Because I doubt eating pasta sauce is going to give you required amount for your body, but hey, I don't know, please enlighten me.

What I heard is Bell Pepper boasts of more Vitamin C by weight than lemon and most citrus fruits. Papaya is also another source. It's surprising. About red pasta...depends, I guess. If you use crushed tomatoes, maybe you can still get the amount of vitamin C a tomato offers. The processed tomato sauce...I doubt.

Yay! i love to add bell peppers to lots of foods i wonder about how nutritional they are cooked vs. raw. but eating them raw is enjoyable too. i wonder if this could be a good vege to try to put in a smoothie like kale, spinach. you could disguise it with other fruits!

Interesting. Yeah, I don't mind eating it raw, too. I just don't prefer its crispy, juicy feel when you take a bit. hehe
