I remember in the past seldom women would like soccer. They didn't understand why the men were so excited to it. Today it seems to be different. Many women like watching soccer. What are the reasons for it? I personally think that the handsome soccer players is one of the most factors

Does that mean that the soccer players who played earlier were ugly?
I think may be that is one factor but not big one. i think it all is due to the awareness among the woman that they know that their man like sports and man don't like their family seriels so may be to show that they have got the same taste they will watvh the soccer.
I can see it just by looking in someone's face if they really enjoy it or not and most of the woman just don't like watching sports, while men are all into it.

It might also be because the sport is much bigger now. It's on pretty much all year round and generally it will be something to do with their partner. I think most women I know aren't really interested in football, but they take an interest so they can enjoy it with their husband/boyfriend.

Yes, its because of the cute hot players.. Soccer players should thank Media for giving them exposure. They caught many girls attention. I didn't watch any soccer game before but now I do.

I like watching women soccer game and also like playing it, and I remeber that China got the second in the women soccer world-cup in 1999 and lost the champion to Amrica...

I think in the past it was not considered feminine for women to enjoy soccer. Times have changed, and women have realized that they can enjoy it too, and even play it, if they want to. Also, if this passion os going to take up so much of men's time, women are realizing that "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" They are discovering that soccer is something that couples can enjoy together.

I am not able to watch soccer because I don't have the upgraded cable and here in America, it is rare to see a televised game on basic TV. I like soccer because my kids played and that is how I learned how the game is played.
Another problem I have if a game is on is, I don't know which team to cheer for because I am out of the loop, but I do like watching it.

I think that being influenced by the people around is the biggest factor. When her colleagues were talking about last night's football game. she would have overheard and after sometime she would have an idea of what the game is all about. If her husband/father/son/brother is also a football fan, then she will be exposed more and sooner, she may just develop an interest. Of course the handsome footballers do help to male her more convinced. :)

Hello youless
Perhaps with the proliferation of the television where ever one goes, and with these often tuned to sporting events, women simply can no longer avert their eyes from such things?
Also, women and men alike are experiencing more leisure time, especially with the invention of the vaccuum cleaner, the iron, the washing machine, and other time saving devices so that they now have time for such frivoloties as watching soccer.
Peace
