Do you feel frustrated if you don't get any comments?

Sometimes, I do. Especially, when I feel like I have started sensible topics. I even see topics that aren't really appealing or without real sense anyway. Many are rants and complaints but they still get big numbers of responses. Oh well...
So, those who have mastered receiving many comments, what can you suggest? Let's help each other out. *wink*

hi sharksfin,
So far I don't have a topic like that because I got some friends who support me here
I think no one will like that there will be no respondent on their topic
SO better have good friends and eye catcher discussion
happy mylotting

...but I think that "eye catcher discussion" is rather subjective, though.

Hi, Sharksfin! Yes, sometimes it's frustrating, especially when you have zero responses.
But then you can understand what are the topics that catch the most of interest. I don't think I'm so good at inventing interesting topics. Recently I had good success with a discussion about the earthquake in my country. But this is obvious - people are always attracted by something real and dramatic. I had no success with discussions about politics. So if you want to be "popular" the real things from the life are the better topics.

Usually I got comments to all my discussion that I started. Sometimes it happend that I don`t response on some comment, but I never feel frustrated, because I usually don`t response on some not interested replays or some stupid comments. I send you friend request so we can help each other :)

I've made some friends over the past few months that I've been here, and of course these friends of mine are people who I have common interests with. In a way, the topics that I make, they can relate that's why I get comments in my discussions. Even to those not of my friends, but of the same interest they will be able to relate to my discussion.
Advice, I remember before, when I was still starting the best advice I got was to make the title of your discussion very catchy or something that will really attract attention. One example of it was a rant, it goes something like this "MyLot is a SCAM, I will quit and stop using MyLot"(not the actual name of the discussion) but when you read the details of that discussion, he/she was referring to a newbie here in MyLOt who didn't understand the mechanics, and made a discussion out of that person for being so immature and in a way stupid. And the one who posted this discussion, was veteran about 20,000+ posts with 10 star rank.
Off course his/her friends noticed and seemingly rushed immediately to read the discussion if it was true that she would be leaving MyLOt, but had a better discussion instead.
To make it clear:
1) have many friends of the same interest
2) catchy discussion title
Just to add, also read the responses here because, your discussion will attract willing MyLotters to share their ideas too.
happy MyLotters

I know! haha... Provoking titles. Oh well... it's just not me, though. Maybe I'll learn it over time.
Thanks for the suggestions. Will keep them in mind. Sadly, I can't make more friends for now due to the technical problems MyLot is experiencing.

hi sharksfin! I am not really a master of getting many comments but I still want to help :) In my opinion, if you really want to get lots of comments then start a topic on what interests most people. May it be about facebook or about music, I am sure if it is a trend or if a lot of people like it, then most likely a lot will respond. This is just my opinion though. good luck! hope you get lots of comments!

Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate it a lot. I tried starting topics which might be generally interesting to everyone. But, well..."interesting" is rather subjective. :)

It doesn't really frustrate me. I do have several posts or discussions with a lot of comments while there are those with no comment at all. You shouldn't feel badly about them because it only takes time for a person to notice that they could relate with your topic or something.
As for a tip, I think you should add more friends so that more and more people could see your posts. You see, when you add up friends, the topics you started will be shown in their "friends started" category.
Just keep posting and 'discuss' more rather than just posting topics.
Most people are here to talk and are interested with what you have to say or comment about their posts as well. If a mylotter would just say thanks and don't bother to go back with discussions, some people find it rude - thus, avoiding all topics started by the person altogether.
Oh by the way, read the guidelines and follow them accordingly.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Thanks, Laydee... only, I can't add friends right now. Can't even approve pending requests. But, I'll keep that in mind.
Am I violating any guideline, btw?

Check for the new topics and how many responses there is, that means how many people are online by that time.
Time difference is a big factor why other topic/s goes with no response.
Try to add more friends/mylotters who are active (check the number beside their username) and see those mylotters who respond to their own topic, they are the ones who are likely comment and respond to other topics especially from their friends list.
