How do you know if this subject is new or copied?

I already had several of my responds erased do to the fact that the subject I was responding to were copied.
Now I just responded to a subject and got a warning from a mylotter that this discussion will be erased since it is copied (with a link to the original subject). So first - thank you for the warning.
Second - how can I find out if a subject is duplicated or not? How do I check it out?
Thank you.

"I already had several of my responds erased do to the fact that the subject I was responding to were copied."
When our responses are deleted because the discussion that they were under was deleted, we are not informed as to the reason for the deletion - so how do you know that those topics were copied?
If you read a lot here, even without responding, you will recognise topics that you have already seen before.
If a friend on your list suddenly starts posting endless new topics, you can check them out by copying part of the topic and pastingit into a search engine. If it is copied from somewhere then it will show up.
You will get used to how your friends write and if one day you see something written by them where the grammar or spelliong or punctuation is complety different from their usual style then you might want to check on that too.

I was told they were erased, so I assumed the reason was that their were copied. (After all when it is breaking TOS, mylost inform you about it).
And the problem isn't with subjects written by my friends. It is about subjects I see from unknown people that turn out to be copied.

When it is breaking the TOS myLot inform the discussion starter, not those who responded and there are MANY reasons for deletions as you can see in the Guidelines.

Right, the only time a response of yours would be deleted would be when the discussion it was under was in violation or your response was in violation and reported. You won't be given any in detail info as to why it was deleted except to read your guidelines and TOS.

Aside from the suggestions above, you can also try getting the topics from discussions tab. It is located at the upper left part of every page of myLot. It is the third tab from the left: home, interests, discussions, tasks, blogs, etc.
If you're getting the topic from that tab, you'll see duplications under each topic that you'll pulled up. You should also check first if they're exact duplications, usually they're not.
I have attached a sample.

I always check with the Mylot search bar before starting a new discussion. I check to see if a similar discussion has been started before. However, I have honestly never checked a discussion before responding to it. It is too tiring to have to check every discussion to see if it is copied or not before posting a response to it. I post my responses to whichever discussions I get interested in and whenever I have time. But sometimes my responses get deleted and I get the notification from Mylot that the question my response was under has been deleted. I usually presume that the discussion had been reported by members. Nowadays I am responding a bit carefully so that my responses stay. Or else if we keep working hard to post our thoughts and then those discussions get deleted and our responses too as a result, it would not be a very nice thing.

Many deletions take place under "mylot" category. From my experience I have seen other topics deletion is not that much. But mostly we get chances for responding more mylot topics. hence deletion is there.
supposing we answer topics relating to health, studies, sports , dreams etc. deletion will be less.

you have worded your response nicely " I don't have any original answers......"
whenever I post responses I am mentally ready that 5% of the discussions may be deleted for violation of guidelines. good day.

This is so silly, why would people copy conversations? I think you just need to respond to the people you trust or haven't had any problems with the conversation. I try to avoid people who pump out a bunch of conversations all at once. I know they want to make money, but it's very hard to keep track of one conversation, let alone a hundred in one day.

If the person plagiarizes, then his or her account will likely get removed by myLot. Of course, that does not help you if you have responded to several discussions started by that person, but it will keep others (and perhaps you) from falling into the same trap and having the same thing happen again ... at least by that person under that particular user name.

Yes I can see how that would be a problem, it takes some time to get familiar with everything. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. This probably won't happen to often, and the person who does it probably won't get any more visitors after the first time.

I agree & I try to avoid serial post writer. However, it is hard for me only to talk to people I trust, since I'm kind of new here. So unless we are talking about people I already know for different places (such as yourself), I wouldn't know if I can trust a person here or not.

1xodoi I was thinking much the same but perhaps we should scan the older discussions and if we see some that are quite popular try to remember the discussion. then if you happen to see a new discussion using the same identical words you should hit the report button and report him or her for plagiarizing someone else's work.

You have been given some good suggestions already. The easiest way (aside from the ones already suggested) is just time and reading. Once you have been here a while, then it will get easier to spot the ones that likely are duplicates. Also, if you look in an interest category, such as "myLot", and there are multiple discussions on the same topic in the first page or two, then I would suggest not responding to any of them as there is a good chance many (if not all) will be deleted.
